Poetry is the most meaningless thing in the world. Bunch of words come together to form meaningless sentences without a subject or predicate

Thanks so much for this wonderful topic. I absolutely love poetry! To me, poetry is wisdom passed down through generations, carrying profound messages that resonate across all languages and cultures. I'd love to share these lines from my own language, which reflect the value of loyalty:

Who breaks a cherished bond once dear,
Will break it again without a tear.

Thanks again, BBC Learning English. You're one of the most diverse, clear, and inspiring learning channels I've ever come across!

I love reading, but poetry was never my favorite. Or maybe I'm more picky with them. I'm not familiar with other countries' poetry that much. From the Georgian literature, one of them I like is Terenti graneli. I like his raw sadness in his poems that makes me emotional.

So, poetry is regarded here as the help of healing your emotions and touching your soul. As in an open mic, people sing and recite their poetry to feel better. In the modern era, it's stretched its power and helps the impenetrable science jargon get less of a turn-off. As "hot poets" attempt to make poems out of scientific research.

I don't really have that many ideas about poetry;however,I do remember a poem from our Grade 12 curriculum:The Road Not Taken, composed by Robert Frost(I guess). It has stuck my mind so far as it reminds me to think deliberately before i actually decide to move forward;just not to end up living my life with full of regrets. 😊

After watching your video, I realized how poetry really shapes us. Back when I was attending high school (nearly two years ago), we studied what's known as the lengthiest love poem in the world (written by the most famous Romanian poet). By reading and rereading it, I discovered my own ability to memorize lyrics. However, I distinctly remember trying to memorize a much shorter poem with one of my former classmates. The way we interpreted the piece was genuinely unbelievable, and sparked curiosity among our classmates. We even worked out the best intonation and rhythm.
