I remember this was one of the first murder trials I ever watched and the investigators did some amazing work to piece this murder together with concrete proof of what this kid did to his parents. The house behind him had surveillance cameras and it picked up the lighting changes that reflected off the living room windows as this kid was burning his parents bodies in their own fireplace. He kept their body parts in chest freezer and this girlfriend was clueless to her psychotic boyfriend the entire time. I couldn't believe how calculated and deranged this kid was. His father finally put two and two together that their son had been lying about going to school and working a job and instead of facing his parents with the truth, he decided to just kill them both in cold blood! Terrible case!! 🤯

Right off the bat the son seems flat to me. He's not blinking in the interview room and maintaining constant, almost staring eye contact. Not to mention a person with a missing family member or friend wouldn't care if the cops tore their house apart if it would lead to clues and not question if police had a warrant to go in. The son's girlfriend is just a little too giddy and chatty on the ride to her interview. There's nervousness and then there's a super friendly, so 'innocent' way of coming off to others.

It’s sad that I relate to doing all the lies, i would lie to my family by acting I would go to work, but really I would go hang out with my friends. Lie about attending college. Lie that I have alot of money saved but had no job. Lie that I had so many friends but really I was lonely. But it came to the point where I told them the truth and I felt relieved. Everyone understood me.

But I never had the thought of killing anyone, not even my family.

It’s just so sad and I’m filled with anger that he killed his parents which I’m sure they would’ve understand and help him.

But I thank God that I have a job, married and living great but not the greatest and perfect. Just happy.
