Why the US pressured the UAE to leave OPEC: Big Oil corporations benefit
Video Overview & Insights
OPEC, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, is in crisis after the United Arab Emirates (UAE), its third-largest producer, left the group. Donald Trump openly praised the decision, saying it is good for the United States. Ben Norton explains why the US government opposes OPEC, which is rooted in the Third World nationalist movements of the 1960s, which sought more economic resources for the Global South. The USA wants its Big Oil corporations to dominate the industry.

You are one of the most dumbest person ever talking about cartels on oil. Cartels are formed to protect their profits against competition. When cartels breaks up, it's the consumers that benefits snd not much the breakeraway partner in the cartel because they will produce according to the supply and demand required by the market. Cartels objective is to maximize their profits by undercutting production of oil, this artificially inflating the market price. It's the consumer that lost our the most by cartels actions. I can tell you one of the most dumbest person talking about oil cartels.

Wow first time listening to you last time listening to you you are very very very very boring
@joejoey2696Good oil history lesson that most people forgot and simple don’t know
@ZAVeinfinateBestFateYoutubeWayUAE is a colony of the United States of Israel. UAE leaders are the lapdogs of their Masters Netanyahu-Trump.
@kool2370We cqll your reporting or this site as "MARITES" meaning in english Gossips. Some call it barbera stories
@John-ml5mrMaybe the reason of uae pulled out in opec just because of iran, when iran attacks uae and also the rumor that iran invasion of uae, they are both opec member, that why uae decided to live the group because of iran violence actions against uae
@angelitobanilad6923Videos like these are one of the reason why people remain broke, not understanding oil markets, financial upward mobility and being financially illiterate.
The UAE wanted to produce more, several Opec countries were not following their quota and producing above guidelines. Another stupid comment the petro dollar deal expired a few years ago. Countries use it because it the most stable currency.
This video compared state owned oil to private companies? 😂😂 This is just one big TDS and I'm not even a Trump fan.
My goodness I why people get ahead while others wish casting.
It was determined by Israel
@yasinhakim6361Michael Hudson posits that UAE left due to the financial burden placed on it by the war and so they need to sell more oil to meet their financial obligations. He argues OPEC long since devolved into something controlled by Saudi Arabia and hence the United states to benefit the oil companies. This is the opposite of what you're suggesting, so its important to note. Michael was just on Radhika's new show
@austinlittke7688President pervert's corruption knows no boundaries. A criminal psychopath who is destroying our democracy and economy. VOTE BLUE
@Trag-zj2yoYaw wrong they left opec to pay iran with that extra oil they will be selling. They're hedging.
@JulietJewsThe collapse of America REGIME will bring peace and happiness to the world.
@stevenpreston5619I want Petro dollar to continue to dominate oil trade for the next 2 decades. I just bought a lot of US dollars recently 😅
@popoymotmotwhat if Iran which is from OPEC do not allow UAE's vessels through Hormuz😅? Even though they can pump as much as they can, they still go through OPEC-Iran controlled strait of Hormuz
@CybebeGRETA IS A MICROBE OF GLOBALIST GOVT SHE SHOULD CONTROLLED AND ARRESTED
@sponge-bob-squareI say lets get USA bases out of Australia
@Trumpet-z8vccvRight now China, Russia and brics are getting their ass kicked. I don't see that change anytime soon. The world is run like a business and every country a cooperation. Even if the US empire falls the evil would just change it's base.
@FreeSpirit-gk7snWin for big oil companies and loss of Arab oil producers as it will eventually flood the oil market.
@AbdulMQaziDon Tzu - The art of the deal that sends all the rest of your Gulf allies running into the arms of Iran 🇮🇷
@JoshDavis-j6pGood work ben.
@shah_en_shahUSA control every petrodollar the Saudis have in the banking system from oil sales, USA can declare war and then refuse to release any funds as happened to Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Venezuela and now Iran. Iraq was planning to leave the petrodollar oil payment system, Iraq all destroyed now, and BP and Exxon take their oil. USA is so bankrupt and out of diesel oil it can’t ever cover the foreign oil money held in USA banks . China has trillions in their USA banks that’s why war is threatened against China if they try to break away from the petrodollar. USA and UK refuse to release gold and funds to any nation they chose….UK has refused to release gold belonging to Venezuela for years …USA are claiming it now. OPEC funds are in petrodollars and controlled in the USA banking system ….nkw we see USA refusing to pay out nations declared enemies ….Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction but lost it all as they were a threat to USA banks
@JHunt-q6sOne can't tell a slave state noT to be self-defeatist
@TyrellSuraiyaLol…US cut Europe off from Russian energy so it can but American expensive energy. Must be better?😂😂😂.
Cuts Asia off from cheap gulf state energy for more expensive energy from US…😂😂😂
So who is the real terrorists state? Was HAMAS to blame?
PFFFT…the US of course, for everything.
The US is desperate to stabilise things, so it asked its vassal to sacrifice its long term interests for its lord. That's why. It's no good for a lord to ask so much of any vassal, that has a cost to the empire, but desperate times call for desperate deeds.
I'm commenting this because your reporting makes it seem like it's a good move. It's not. It's a reaction to a bad situation with a decision to go for short term gain for long term pain... There's a reason KSA is slowly taking distance from the US, and moves like these in the past are the reason for this happening now. That's one example of course, there are many others.
The U.S. can exert enormous pressure and influence, but influence has limits. States like the UAE still pursue their own interests and make sovereign calculations. Explaining every geopolitical move as “America forced them” is analytically weak because it erases local agency, ignores conflicting evidence, and oversimplifies how international politics actually works
@jacksonuche7428While the US has an interest in dominating and controlling the oil market, countries who go along with the US pressure did so out of what they perceived as beneficial to them.
The real question one should ask is what is the UAE getting out of the US pressure that they agreed to. What's in it for them.
And if the US can pressure people to leave the organization, shouldn't they have destroyed the organization by now or prevent it from even forming in the first place.
The fact that countries can resist the pressure means they chose to go with the US pressure because of the benefits they think is in it for them.
MY QUESTION IS DID THE UAE HAVE AN AGENCY IN THE MATTER OR THIS IS ANOTHER VIDEO OF IS SOMEBODY ELSE FAULT, WE DON'T HAVE A CHOICE ARGUMENT.
Correction. Usa ordered uae.
@mgtowstanleyzoltanov9808MIDAS... May Israel Disappear Again Soon * (The asterisk stands for "Let no one get hurt... )
@rohanmillson3182That's the whole point: you hate America because you have this idealized view of social justice worldwide, but the problem is that every time you point to what was supposed to be a positive benefit, you see corruption within that system, too. So you're just angry that, despite its flaws, our system is still the most successful.
@toneduncanTwisted dissonance
@toneduncanSo the UAE is now doomed. Everything Trump touches fails
@ernest5171So it's another bribe for Trump from the big oil corporations thanks Donnie
@ernest5171Americans are playing both side UAE AND SAUDIS
@SoheilaNouri-mk8jhThank you that was awesomely informative
@DavidBarkley-yv8qtWhatever happens in the world, the results are always the same: the rich & the corporations win & profit & the people lose.
@fuckisreal666There will be no uae left because they are traitors to the gulf region... your oil fields will burn and your shops will not pass
@AndyAbdoolDems: 'Trump is a dumbest man on this planet'.
Dems: 'Trump stole oil from other countries, that makes us poor'
Dems: 'Surpreme court, Senates, the House, all been controlled by dumb Trump'
FAKE NEWS!! First of all, no one pressures the Arabs. Second, USA have their own oil reserve bigger than Saudi Arabia has that most people don't know. UAE separated from OPEC because of the monopoly and control of Iran who bullies its neighboring countries. This not just about Trump the way you portrayed him negatively. US has been involved for a long long time with Arab oils before Trump.
@KeepRolling-u3l15 confirmed American soldier deaths since this Iran "conflict"... 15 men who wanted to make a difference in this world.. gone.. for oil price fluctuation.
@Marlin123445Another piece of propaganda bull shit! The UAE Leaving OPEC is a win for everyone on the planet, not just oil companies. You guys need to fabricate better lies.

CHRISTIANITY IS NOT A STATE (Israel) owned religion, islam is owned by UAE and other arabs .Rome owns catholicism,So relying on UAE with its political, economic and reliogious ambitions its like those who hang out 50 cents trying to woo a prostitute while the neighbour is flashing £5 Billion per night. SO TELL ME NOTHING about the mission of the religion of peaces or don't try and convince me of any of their sanctity if any exists.🤔🤔🤔
There were NO problems with oil until Trump decided to start a war
@Incognito-jf1drFake news!!! UAE is leaving OPEC because OPEC won't let the UAE produce 11mil barrels a day like they want to!! FACTS!!💯👊
