This year I'm graduating and going to study abroad (I'm a Mongolian student going study in Taiwan's Tsinghua )
And I just wanted any kind of advice for studying abroad.

Thanks a lot. I am currently in my 3rd of 4 years in highschool and these are great tips for college. I am personally very introverted and make friends hard, that's my worst quality and the thing i need to work on the most from all the mistakes you mentioned. I am saving this video and will probabbly revisit it multiple times!

All I have got to say is thank God I decided to go to college online it's way cheaper My schedule is way more flexible this way Also I get to have The more occasional someone home cooked meals My relatives don't really like cooking I know they say they don't like the mess but I truly believe it's because they're lazy and they don't want me to cook either for some weird reason Again me personally I think it's because they're lazy and rude By any way really I have got to honestly not to brag or anything give any of those oh hey I'm better than you type of vibes don't get me wrong But honestly just last year in July I got into the National Honor Society for Leadership and success in that proves that I take my homework as well as my education very very seriously Although I will have to admit some regrets I have not keeping a consistent schedule Not always keeping up with my daily tasks and or chores and skipping the alarm

Little late on this but hiring movers for a college dorm is an absolute scam. What do you actually have, 2 suitcases worth of clothes, a laptop, sheets, and possibly an office chair? That's like 2 car loads at absolute most, just get a friend or family member to help you. Also I'll be brutally honest but the "hang out in common areas" tip that people always give hardly ever really works out. At best you'll have a conversation with a couple dudes who you have nothing in common with, give out your number and both parties feel to awkward to reach out. Sign up for a club that you think is fun, and you'll meet like minded people in that. Elevator pitching yourself to every person you meet just takes all your social battery and makes you feel like a failure.

Don’t sleep on free resources your college might offer: tutoring, therapy, wellness coaching, nutrition coaching, group fitness classes, structured group study sessions, food pantry, mock interviews, etc. All stuff I wish I would’ve taken advantage of my first year.

I don't skip classes. Ever, unless it's subs.

idk about this. I mean you shouldn't be skipping classes and you should take care of your health but this comes off as very self help but not in a good way lmao. You shouldn't see people as future job references or the next billionaire -- which is almost certnaly not gonna happen unless ur at an ivy bc those people are already rich. Uni is not an intense experience tbh. I went to uni in the same city where I lived (Los Angeles) so I didn't have to live in a dorm. Most professors who teach lower division classes will absolutely be on top of you about assignments, studying etc. I wasn't that kinda TA in grad school but others were. I dont think there's any real difference between bring a freshman in uni and bring a senior in HS. You're mostly still treated like a teenager by both society and the university.

If you live on campus, set an alarm for your classes on iPhone timers, it’s less painful then making calendar events, make sure to set it ahead of the start time by the travel time plus some buffer if there’s traffic. It also might help to include room and building.

Bonus: 2 funny stories

1: I used the above time trick and 99% of the time I got there before my alarm went off (which was set for the start of class and not a few minutes ahead). One day I forgot I had a class and my alarm goes off. So I book it to my class which was at the top of a hill and about a quarter mile away. Lo and behold the only day I’m late is the day we had a quiz (small engineering quiz). Lesson for my engineer friends, DONT SKIP CARDIO.

2: This one is more upsetting than funny. I had a class that was just a requirement for my major. It was about a half mile walk uphill both ways (not joking either, my dorm was at the bottom of the hill, and I had to walk up that hill and back down to where the class was, and that hill going down too the class was much stepper). I get the class in the teacher is on a Zoom call. The entire semester he was on Zoom call except for one class (for a class that meets once a week). Their worst shuttles to get back up, but they never showed up on time or class ran late.
