The being that is pennywise seems to be more of a psychic being then an interdimensional one due not only to how it appeared at first via a meteorite although it would not be a purely physical being it definitely isn't an interdimensional one even though it can create a inter-dimensional space this is not a being of an interdimensional place it is an incredibly powerful psychic being which is why it feeds on psychic energy which is the fear and emotions that it consumes and if it was an interdimensional being it would have no need to consume the flesh which means it is at least in part from our physical universe and it has a physical form it just becomes intangible whenever it wants to as its able to read minds it can determine when it is in the most danger although it cannot employ this ability apparently when using some of its abilities like when he uses the deadlights

I had seen the 1990’s series as a kid and hadn’t seen it since but when I saw these new ones coming out I had always wanted to watch them and for whatever reason I just didn’t until now. And after watching part 1 I was astonished as I never realized “It” was an eldritch being. I don’t know what I thought it was but I didn’t think it was an ancient incomprehensible being that simply feeds on terrified children. And that’s all it does is devour worlds just to move on to the next one. Something about that is far more terrifying than IT being just a demonic clown. It seems to radiate fear and negativity. Not just for the purposes of feeding. Like the entire city has abusive people in it. And “it” exasperates the negative traits in parents and kids. It’s essentially a God of fear. You have to think that it’s been there since time immemorial. So even in Pre Columbian times it must’ve tormented and fed off the Natives. They might’ve worshipped it thinking to appease it or at the very least it inspired myths like skinwalkers (of course only within this universe)
