It's not what it used to be. I used to make over 10k per month in some months and made over 250k just from beat sales. You can still make money now, but not as much as you could've years ago. My peak was 2019.
I'd say focus on working with artists directly or make your own tracks, it actually means something and is not just another beat. Plus, when you have a name for yourself and higher spotify listener count, it's easier to sell beats

i have been producing for 7 years and ive gotten like 5 sales. its too difficult for me to stay in a niche bc i like to produce a lot of genres and i dont like to stay in one. also, ive been uploading reels and tiktoks of my beats and that has gotten more traction that my beats on youtube. ive been uploading for months and some of them get more than 1k views but the rest stay stuck and i cant seem to understand youtube and how it really works. and every time i try to uplod a beat in soundseam the page crashes or stays in the analyzing track phase. its sad bc ive gotten to a very good level of producing and i cant create a consistent flow of sales and conections. what do u recommend? ive tried nine vicious, don toliver, plugg and other type of niches but i cant keep consistent and i never see big results. thank you
