Aurum 1006km: Motorsport's Strangest Endurance Race
Video Overview & Insights
#motorsport #racing #gt3
Same thing with the legendary and crazy street race track called Mišeluk (Spelled kinda like Misheluk) in Serbia ,in the city of Novi Sad.
Le Mans. Daytona. Sebring. We all know the icons. But what if one of the most unique endurance races in the world has been hiding in plain sight?
Maybe this race should be the next for Max Verstappen in GT3 after he gets done with the Nurburgring.
Awesome video
The Aurum 1006 km race is unlike anything else in motorsport. Held every summer in Lithuania, this incredible event transforms public roads near Palanga into a full-blown racing circuit, where GT3 cars, touring cars, and grassroots builds go head-to-head over 1006 kilometers of flat-out endurance racing.
In this video, we take a deep dive into what makes this race so special, from its highway-based track layout and multi-class chaos to its old-school racing spirit that feels worlds apart from modern series like Formula One and the FIA World Endurance Championship. With fuel stops at actual gas stations, unpredictable conditions, and a festival atmosphere packed with fans, the Aurum 1006 km is a true throwback to the roots of racing.
My dad drove in the aurum 1006 in 2008
Whether you’re a true endurance racing fan or just discovering the sport, this is one event you need to know about.

What a boring layout koodos for trying I guess
@vodiloskBasicially the closest to a Rally event.
@BansheeNT-DI have been watching this competition since 2014, but I think I won't watch it again this year because there are very few participants, and many good local teams are interested in foreign competitions.😢
@paprastai_BashhkenzeSebring over Nürburgring is insane
@46cockboyNot saying Nurburgring is honestly criminal.
@geesmanHmm, tv coverage, more, looks great.
Iracing version please.
Nice video and I generally agree with your impression, but GT3 and GT4 stand for exactly some of the things you're rightfully criticizing in modern professional motorsport, which is sanitizing the sport and ruining true, sporting competition by having BoP. The TCR category is also much of the same and those cars are probably the most boring ever.
@armorgeddonIt’s so weird seeing a modern GT3 there and knowing more was spent on assembling that one single car than the entire track it races on
@liamfergieDoesn't mention Spa or Nürburgring 24h. Typical Yank
@ITFNBiteBayKonIracing should scan this track 5:06
@Joshua_wendt1994This is the modern version of Avus.
@marleyrios1573Oh, I thought the 24 hours of Nurburgring was goofy. A new champion has arrived.
@DrivingGod21This is like that one Forza Horizon 3 race that starts on the highway
@falcongamer58Do you think modern racing is bad?
@RacerC45✋Excuse me sir ✋👏but 👏👉is that original post you made 👉right there 👉Palanga ❓☝Now hold on ☝😡it might sound ridiculous 😡😤but bare with me here. 😤👀You see 👀 there's an intersection with 4️⃣ roads ☝let's count them ☝ 1️⃣ 2️⃣ 3️⃣ 4️⃣ roads ❗️❗️✋And you know what else has 4️⃣ roads ❓😤That's right 😤😡Palanga does ❗️😡 👇But i'm not done yet 👇 👀you see 👀👉in the main straight 👉☝there is ☝ 1️⃣ tire chicane 👈 positioned right before the hairpin. 👈 😡Should I even continue ❓😡😤I guess I will 😤😒as you still don't understand. 😒 😲I should clarify this is a level 5 Palanga circuit 😲🙄so I don't expect you to understand it. 🙄 💁 Anyways 💁 ✌️ in the second straight ✌️👀there is 1️⃣ fuel station 👀👉next to the straight 👉 👇so cars can refuel. 👇☝ In the 3️⃣rd straight ☝ ✌️a bridge 🌉 that goes over the start/finish straight 🏁. 🙌 👆 Finally, 👆 there is, yet again, 1️⃣ chicane 👆 🤙 right next to the pit lane. 🤙 👀Everything looks like it's adding up 👀😤therefore😤😡it HAS to be Palanga ❗️❗️😒You need to make it less obvious next time 😒🙄if you want it to be more funny. 🙄
@GreenHead45This layout is straight outta Flatout 2
@jonatanrobledo9812We need a @TGRPhilippines Cup Style Endurance Race. Welcome Back Las Piñas Villar City.

"racing fan"
How have I never heard of this?
@BrokenBaculumGrown into the "largest motorsport Festivals" in the baltic region - Not that hard to be fair lmfao😂
@zeincexxx1285Does it have BoP? If not, huge W
@The_Bill_015:11 2104
@Cabron_fiberI go to this race like every 2 years and the racing itself never really disappoints, usually at least one or two fires happen, one of my core memories of this race is a porsche crashing into a camera ‘tower’ and the camera guy somehow managed to stay on top of the tower and I love how there always is at least one tuned out shitbox competing
@R.A-k3sHoly fuck this is COOL
@nicololorenzon3291Do people even know where Lithuania is? Joking ofcourse. I was born and lived for half of my life in Kretinga (about 10km from this track). This race brought me to motorsports, helped me to fall in love with the racing❤ They do livestreams of this race, absolutely recommend to watch
@vikingas_g2390i've played this track on the roblox game formula fusion and it's some of the most fun i've had on any of those tracks. timing the corners perfectly feels like having won a war with the human limit, yet i can also see how it could be ran as an endurance race. the layout is really fun and makes for quite a few overtaking opportunities really
@bbilly197I'm worried about the future of this race. Since 2021, the number of entries has decreased from over 40 to just 16 in 2025. Also, the racing... well, there isn't much of it here. The hairpin is the only overtaking opportunity, and with modern cars becoming bigger and bigger, the track feels narrower than ever before. I'm sure it's great fun in person, but on TV it's literally cars driving in circles for 10 hours with barely any action. And that simply doesn't sound sustainable long-term
@MartynasBarzdaModified streetcar? I didn't know that trams can also enter 😂
@JFBenceLITHUANIA MENTIONED 🇱🇹 🇱🇹 🇱🇹 🇱🇹 🇱🇹 🇱🇹 🇱🇹 🇱🇹 🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅
@Auri713RealHilarous and great
@lynxoflight724:13 last year Caddy 😁😁😁
@UxB4DUsed to show this a few times on Motors TV (much missed ☹️💔), certainly the strangest race I’ve ever watched 😳
@RichardCadmanHow have I never heard of this?
@RebelSoul2010Time to end the FIA and make a new governing body that focuses on these styles of events because that looks FUN to watch 😂
@georgesgranger6362DU-DU-DUDU... (if you know, you know)
@thelammacusWait how does the gas station thing work? 110 octane racing fuel is leaded, and according to EU regulations that fuel cannot be mixed with regular consumer grade fuel. Do they clean the gas station's tanks before and after the race?
@aftoknitoMy boss won this race overall in 2016
@borbune2168Omg!!! I have wondered about why nobody has done a street circuit using the highway on and off ramps like this for years sense i first found out about Avus! This just makes so much sense to me!
@zach2beatYES IVE BEEN WAITING FOR PEOPLE TO TALK ABOUT AURUM!! I’ve been on ts for like 4 years and its so goated
@TexAvery-l2oMisha needs to do this
@fairisfehrThis is awesome. I want to see something like this in the midwest

@marscars-57might be my new favorite race
@azurealI think this type of racing is GOLDEN!

Get it? Because "Aurum". Your welcome. 😁🤘
With NLS probably getting overrun by the orange army. I might visit this race this year.
