Most e60 M5s were SMG as were the M6 and the M3 CSL. Only after lobbying M was the manual available in limited numbers.

Sorry I must disgree: the M3 is a sports coupe. A very good one but not a sports car. A sports car is a two seat car (possibly a 2+2) that makes compromises on everyday use to make it lighter, faster or better looking. But not necessarily all at once. This is why an M3 can't make the last points to beat the 911 or Cayman in group tests. The current M3/4 is very fast but heavy.

I’ve always been a muscle guy, and I’ve owned a bunch of V8 RWD American cars because of it ranging from 215 hp to 500. I’m looking for my next sports car and I’m considering an M3 pretty heavily. Is there a good resource I can use to learn more about them? I don’t really know anything at all tbh
