You Can Make a Netflix Style Doco About Literally Anything

I just want to say, why aren't more videos made like the first 10 seconds of this video? Everyone who clicked on the video knows the premise. The person making the video knows the audience is already coming in knowing the premise. Why is it 20 years into youtube videos we still have 5 minute introductions explaining the premise to every video essay?

This makes me SO happy. I've been complaining for years abkut how formulaic these corny Netflic documentaries have become and I feel like I've been yelling into the vacuum of space with everyone telling me how great they are.

You also have to keep the camera on the interviewee for 10 seconds before and after the interview...so we can see them look around the room and look suspicious

You absolutely nailed the: Finished sentence, zoom camera, interviewee looks down to the left of screen with a twitch in facial expression. Just lets the audience sit with the jam on toast theft for a moment.

How about the intro where they play a mini trailer for the documentary you’re already watching, then build up to a crescendo where they splice together 6 different newscasters saying “toast toast toast toast toast toast”
