Video Overview & Insights
On May 12, 2017, a malware called WannaCry spread uncontrollably through 150 countries, affecting nearly every continent worldwide. To this day, the attack is considered one of the most infectious in history. However, the discovery of a killswitch abruptly halted all its destruction. Why would anybody deliberately include a killswitch? And most importantly, what exactly did this attack uncover?

Very entertaining, educative and well made video, thanks!
Minor point of criticism: Adore the style of your videos. But I disliked that "grain / dirt"-effect used towards the end (e.g. @ 26:25) and I dig the idea, but imo those segments would've looked better without it. Also made me double check if my screen is rly THAT dirty, lol.

and ppl still not realizing that linux is the way to go, apparently windows focus is to give nsa the big brother eye, the so called hackers are just 3rd parties that try to get advantage of want already is there in possession of nsa..
@flintb5291For a minute there I thought you were talking about C0V1D. Didn't that "monster" get created by the Chinese too? Wuhan, I think. I'll be honest with you, all viruses do is destroy all your eLife elements. If you recall, it was in the 80s that e-anything had NO role in our lives at all. Maybe hand-held calculators or electronic toys, that was it. And we all seemed to be fine, in fact, I believe in those days we were better off. We needed each other, now we all live artificial lives inflating our self-perceived images by embellishing who we are on social media, and while we eat, sit and sleep we secretly wonder if they will ever realize we are frauds. Secretly hating the fake-self we've made ourselves into. Yes, this virus should have more rightly been called "Wana_Sing", because of the liberation.
@alanmolox2095MARCUS THE GOAT!!!!!
@wsqareand we pay for netfix. :/
@jpYT162I caught this one on a computer and I just laughed and reinstalled my OS 😂
@MommysprincesshugglesplzHow did no one already bombed North Korea for those things??
@GlivviThe finished version of WannaCry wiped his pc during testing and bro forgot he didn't backup da new version....
@IllusionMaster-04Evil Tobey Maguire created this virus
@Lazarus-u8again the usa government is to blame for everything.
the usa does so much shit and surveillance of people.
but that's just how the fbi, cia and nsa work, they don't care about people at all
I remember being at work when WANACRY ran through the company. Our department work with design files, so we was really lucky to not lose any files. I suspect a similar virus today will absolutely target these design files lol.
Edit: we obviously got the virus because people were downloading movies etc at work...
This is completly wrong. The deadliest virus is the one that reaches you. Once it reaches you, the possibilities are infinite anyways. That's why it's not about what it does, but how it reaches you.
@DogiMetalwatching this on 12th may by the way.
@Coz3y_What if it was USA all along? Its easy to blame NK, Russia or China but I think it may very well be American evil people behind it.
@GraduatWannaCry

@jreakI remember back in college someone's laptop got infected with this ransomware and his thesis got corrupted. Ahh those times.

@R0tt3n_Cr0wSo if these hospitals had simply downloaded the patches they were supposed to, they'd have been fine. America is so backwards.

@emmanuempesoIt is just interesting to note that people from a country that specifically banned religion named their hacking group's name after a religious figure
