As someone who got into bird watching later in life, this is gratifying to watch. I use Merlin too and it's very helpful! Also, I love the bit at the end where they share their favorite birds 😂.

I started bird photography earlier this year, I have gotten 138 different species already and lost 76 pounds chasing after them, my goal is to try to get 200 birds and lose 200 pounds this year.

The app name is: Merlin Bird ID by Cornell Lab. I didn't see it in the description so hope it helps! I love it myself!

Bird watching is the most relaxing, fun, educational hobby that really makes you appreciate nature so much more and encourages everyone to act to protect everything in nature. Touch grass and go birding!!!

Pro Tip: When you see the red dot next to a bird in Merlin (red = very rare), it usually means Merlin mis-ID'd the bird. It only rarely means you actually have a bird that is, well...extremely rare. Some bird calls are still similar enough for AI to confuse, especially with distant or short samples. Merlin should be your coach, like Jessie Barry says in the video. Merlin should not swing the bat for you. Good tools still need to be used correctly.

A good thing Gen Z & Millennial did. It’s perfect

I have been bird watching since I was a child, I’m 42 now. Birds are cool

If they aren't using data location through the app to track where specific species are they are losing out!

@ShiftedGames

Meanwhile the younger generation is also creating more carbon footprint than ever before and contributing to the decline of bird populations 😂

I have 3 birds which make me absolutely adore and have a mini obsession with birds. I feel maternal almost lol. I live in a neighborhood that is almost over run with birds and squirrels (they are always in the streets which force everyone to go slow) and I have been watching and getting attached to the birds that are always in our back yard. 🐦

I love birds. Gentle and beautiful creatures. (Cats are a huge threat to birds. They alone have caused thousands of species to go endangered. Keep cats inside.)

I was on a ton of mushrooms about three years ago and during my trip all I could think about is tomorrow I want to look at the birds 😂😂😂and I've been fascinated with birds ever since I'm 24 now

I love bird watching. I have several feeders and I started seeing birds I never had before. Any time I see a new bird, I get so happy. I like knowing I am helping to feed them and they reward me by showing their beauty. One of my co workers told me about the app and we talk birds every day just about. Any time either of us see a new bird, we share the pics.

The only living dinosaurs left! Birds are already cool to begin with, especially the Philippine (monkey-eating) Eagle.

Been bird watching since I was young because of my dad. Where we live we get tons of birds. Black oil sunflower seeds are always on our grocery list so the feeder is never empty lol. Glad to see more people getting into it!

This is so ironic,as lately I have been interested in watching birds.

I thought I was just getting old (36). 😂

@usrams200910

I enjoy watching birds because I know soon they'll be gone from habitat destruction and pollution and I won't be able to see them anymore.

@rasslemaz

My wife and I have recently got into birding, we live on a few acres of land in rural Iowa and its amazing to see just how many species of birds visit us! Cheap hobby too, just a set of binoculars and youre golden!
