Capitalism will end as any system before it ended which is to say badly. Capitalism breeds monopolies which left unchecked leads to authoritarism. There's a path of destruction at the end of the road. It would have collapsed already multiple times without it being saved by taking from one group and giving to another. Capitalism is a fantasy.

A little off point here, but I'd personally argue that his views on Marxism are quite arrogant. Not that he doesn't give a great argument, my problem is that he refuses to hear anyone out. Before you get all narrow-minded whilst reading this, I personally lean towards favour of capitalism, but I still like to hear other's perspectives. The examples of history's evil dictatorships aren't necessarily solely down to socialism, the same way the current corruption eg. racism, tax-dodging and bank gaining power through loans, propaganda.. isn't necessarily due to capitalism. The system is flawed, yes, but saying it's the fault of capitalism implies that this is what capitalism is meant to be, which I disagree with. My point is that Jordan Peterson, who I consider a wise man and have much respect for, seems to use examples of very greedy people and corrupt systems to describe what socialism and Marxism is supposed to be, which I consider inaccurate. However, I do agree that it is a dangerous idea because people in general have a bad habit of making generalisations and jumping to conclusions. He says himself, "The solutions that Marxism offers are error-ridden to say the least, given the historical evidence. I just don't see how anyone can deny that..." - maybe he should take the time to listen then, because you don't have to agree to understand. Perhaps, and I only understand capitalism and marxism on a basic level, there is potentially things we can learn from a range of perspectives, rather than arguing we are siding with the right tribe. Disclaimer: I'm still learning about this subject, open to being wrong and would like to hear other's perspectives on this, but don't just throw insults because that just prevents effective communication for both of us. I'm here to offer perspectives yet learn from others. Thanks for reading this.

Once an intelligent being gets past all the theorizing and gobbledegook, self relization that sentient beings (humans), may have a selfish gene because it had survival value in the past comes to fruition. Siddhartha Gautama postulated about 2600 years ago that sentient beings, once having this self realization (bodhicitta), can actively do something about it, (metta, karuna, mudita, upekkha).

It's interesting how he says "marxists" and "marxism" and what they say. "They" read these books by Karl Marx and they got to this conclusion and did those things. It's like saying the Pope read this book called the Bible and concluded, yes, let's free the promised land and if we butcher every man, woman, and child in the proces well that's God's will. Or the inquisition reading the Bible and concluding yes, lets burn women at the stake and anyone who oposes our teachings. Should we condemn the Bible and Jesus ? Or to say Hitler read Nietzsche and did what he did so we should condemn Nietzsche. Tell me, cite to me where Marx calls upon the deaths of milions or even sugjests such a thing ? This analysis in irational, and follows the "post hoc ergo propter hoc" fallacy.

What is Peterson doing lecturing on economics? The guy doesn't know crap. He should stick to telling us we can't see our hands when they are behind our heads, and we can't look at someone and see their molecular structure, and that trees are very real and cyclops is like a giant penis.

Let's punch in and see what lobster head has to say at 1:40: 'Capitalism produces inequality [of course he has to slip in one of his big fav words 'hierarchical' here, although it is completely unnecessary] it produces wealth and that wealth is being very effectively distributed to the people who most need it [we have a 350x income inequity gap in the US Jordan, you are calling that very effectively distributed?]. The solution is counter productive if not deadly. [What solution JP?] Our systems can be better than they are. [You mean via a solution that you call deadly? LMK when you start making any sense whatsoever.]

He is saying here that capitalism produces inequity and in other lectures claims that the Left are ignorant since they think that capitalism produces inequity, when actually it is something we inherited from lobsters. I just wanted to say, if you're still living on beef you can probably get away with a few gluten free carbs and vegetables as well, add things slowly & carefully & you might feel better for what you find can reintroduce. (I've done similar for different chronic diseases so I know it totally works, eventually it permanently reverse things) 👍

This title is incorrect. It should be changed to "As the Rich Get Richer, the Poor Get Richer."

All you have mentioned is correct, when you compare capitalism to Marxism, but why is everybody failing to see the dangers of neoliberalism, the most capitalist country in the world is china, and many 3rd world countries are trying to reproduce the Chinese experiment, do you know how terrifying that is?!, especially when you live in one. Your point of view is the result of the freedom and liberty given to you by the surrounding society, but it isn't like that everywhere, the overwhelming majority of Earth's population live under despotic rule, a strong hierarchical system that annihilate the existence of the other, so it isn't as clear as you describe it.

Peterson of course never has a solution to anything, but feels the need to spread his 'insight' anyway. Here is a redistribution of wealth plan. Find the economic flaw in it if you can, and the advantages. Federal guaranteed home ownership program for anyone with a three year work history at any job who can keep up with an affordable mortgage, funded by a 70% tax bracket above $500,000 per year including capital gains, to get the working poor out from under the thumb of wealthy landlords, stabilize their housing costs thus increasing their spending power and mental health. Find the flaw if you can.

What about the environment? The biosphere can not support capitalism long term. Infinite growth of a finite planet isn’t going to work.

Jordans weak point is Economy.Much of economycal sucess is based on political interfirence of state.It is not problem that Elon Musk and Bill Gates make a lot of money but it is problem that many big bussnies make waste amount of money based on their closness with political elite and not their capabilities and by Jordans definition it is no more hierarchy based on competence.For everyone who wants to now how real global economy works i would reccomend this book:"Confessions of an Economic Hit Man".Sorry for mistake in writing,english not my first language.

Democracy is supposed to be an equal rights, equal opportunity system, yet in my 3rd world country I've seen people with university degrees working as janitors. I say we throw a little meritocracy in there since corruption is really the enemy here. And no, not all rich people deserve their wealth.
