In this video, I break down how “Black YN culture” became glorified online and why its influence is having real-world consequences on communities, behavior, and young people. We’re talking about the damage hood mentality has done to the Black community, why more people are rejecting it, and how destructive behavior became something people celebrate instead of escape from.

TIMESTAMPS

My dumbass that black yn meant, black your name. Like wattpad. That was a blast from the past.

the problem isn't that children should not be punished for their actions its the fact that other races children aren't treated the same these are facts not a mindset problem

talk about redlining and housing segregation and underfunding in the blk communities and this will give a better understanding of gang culture and YNs in the black community. i feel like yall not really being sympathetic towards the literal CHILDREN being affected from what’s going on. They didn’t choose to be like that …. environment plays a huge role in a child’s upbringing. i’m not defending them, but what i’m saying is understand more of why they are like that to come up with better solutions than just downing them. That’s literally what american prisons do to criminals. no rehabilitation or understanding, just punishment.

I’ve been saying this! Finally being spoken about, why am I weird as a black women for dancing in the club authentically unsung all my limbs instead of just my bosom, not that twerking is foul but yn culture is so boring, why is it such a trivial task continuing a conversation with a yn

As a White man, when I see a bunch of young Black males walking down the street, talking loud, I'm hypervigilant. Call me prejudiced, but my safety is more important than being called racist for being cautious.

No father in the home, and too many single mother families... Young men need to be socialized by adult male role models. Masculine energy needs to be directed and guided, so it can be constructive and not destructive, Add the ideology that gender is performative and the belief that boys and girls are the same, and people ignore the reality that boys have different needs growing up, than girls. I know, poverty + gangsta rap is a factor, but it doesn't explain everything. Two parent families and adult guidance are the other missing ingredients. My humble opinion...

white looking people [jews] brought blacks to America.... why do you think White Christian Americans fought them to end it, and then let them live in America? These same people are in the WEF-EU-UN-democrat/etc... and they've tricked blacks into opposing whites, to enslave you all

I live in the ghetto and have almost my whole life. My husband and I are putting our house up for sale. It isn't the same here that it was in the 90s. People are outside having a nice time and every single time it ends in fights. There is always a gun being pulled. Everyone is running and screaming at 3am then a bunch of gun shots

The Struggle of Raising Young Black Men

https://www.tiktok.com/@newemergingking/video/7337473351910231338

I dated a black guy when I first moved to Miami. Beautiful guy inside and out and we are still friends to this day. We connected because we both came from Chicago. I grew up in the suburbs and moved to boys town after college. He grew up in the same area as Kanye West grew up in. He explained to me how he grew up in a middleclass black neighborhood that bordered the "hood" and he had to walk through the hood to get to school. So at home he was basically a nerd that loved learning and very curious about art and video game design etc... But he became a target for the gangs. So he had to "thug it up" in order to navigate from home to school. This kept him safe and the gangs left him alone. But then as he would enter his middleclass area the cops would often trail or even stop him. Why? Because he looked like a thug. So he toggled between these two versions of himself to try and stay safe. Really opened my eyes to what these kids have to deal with on the daily.

MY MOST POPULAR VIDEOS

I grew up in a South Carolina public housing community. I’m a professional artist and I was invited to my old elementary school 7 years ago to teach a weeklong workshop. I’ve returned every year since because the kids express so much gratitude. They’re fascinated that I grew up in their neighborhood and have a career no one else they know has. My hope is that my presence could convince young artists to pursue a career in the Arts. This is the most rewarding part of being a full time artist for me!
I encourage all Black adults with special skills, knowledge, or talents to participate in public school career day, especially for title 1 schools. Often, the school districts have budgets for such things and will pay you. Most importantly, the kids will love you for it and you’ll leave feeling inspired!

SOCIALS

10:47 This girl is right, if you've ever seen a Jaguar Wright interview, in one she talked about holding a funeral for her son in Dallas (I think) and her ex held a funeral in Philly and she said she received a phone call from her young son later on in the day who was telling her that a bunch of guys turned up and shot up the place killing the brothers best friend in front of him which is sad that you can't even have a funeral without a shootout happening

ABOUT

"crabs in a bucket" is real in almost all cultures. It's hard to buck the "system". It can be done

— @natedickens1118

My main goal is to provide you the tools to rationally share your opinion on tough topics.

I've adopted the mindset that you can either be a victim of your past or a victor of your future and that at some point, you have to move forward in your life and accept that you are the present manifestation of the past.

Crab in a bucket mentality.

— @JPCLAM

I'll always be here to share my thoughts and offer a new perspective on tough topics. From politics to culture and self-development to new ideas, I'm here to talk about it all.

MENTIONS

This video insinuates we are beyond doomed? But because I’m white and agree I’m a POS racist lol. I hate our society.. we don’t deserve shit.

It’s not just cause the kids have nothing to live for. They are told that by friends and people in the street yet if fathers were in the homes you wouldn’t see this mentality.

18:33 I started following this guy a couple weeks ago. I love what he’s doing. It seems to mainly be black children in his class, but I have seen other races in the videos too. It’s something all kids should learn.

Being too lenient on bad, illegal behavior when kids are young(er) has set the stage to continue acting that way. When we are not held accountable for our actions, there is no reason to change them.

@jonawesolowski-thecommunit9968
@

This isn't new, the black community were concerned about this mentality in the 70's and the upstanding members of said community gave concern about the negative behaviour. But it seems to be getting worse.

You can't flex you have wealth and claim poverty. I'm on minimum wage and we struggle month to month, we live within our means, we don't destroy our environment. Men need to be parents. Nothing is given. There is just as much white poverty as black. In the UK it's different attitude to wealth, but the worst areas are mainly black! It's the culture that has to change.

@Daveyboy4
@

Funny you should mention Hollywood. I saw a video where American black people were loosing their mind over "foreign " black people playing rolls like MLK and Rosa Parks. I see a lot of just angry black people. Angry about everything. A big eye opener was when i discovered its possible to be too dark or too light as a black person in black culture. And you are treated as less then. This haterd some have is just craziness. But I'm white so I should mind my business.

As a white dude who grew up in Southern California, I grew up in a melting pot and never considered myself a racist, and still don’t.. necessarily. I just differentiate people into multiple groups, mainly two. Good, or bad. Good black guy, just a dude. Bad black guy, I will call them the N-word to their face. There are a handful of black dudes that I would take a bullet for. I came to this conclusion on the basis of a smart man who told us to judge by the content of their character, not the color of their skin. You have family values and just want to live day to day as a black man, I will stand by you sir. You go around shooting at gas pumps with your pants around your knees. Hard R.

You need to be a strong parent to tell your kids that can't hang out with certain friends, go certain places and not listen to explicit music/films/online games because the kid will kick, scream and cuss at you because of it. If your parenting style is to be a friend to your kid, you will find it near on impossible to protect your kid from these parasitic friends and lifestyle.
