I left town. Joined the military. I went around the world and back again like Bilbo Baggens. The places I went. The things I saw. The people I met make me the person I am today. I go home to visit mom and dad. Everyone I knew in high school was still there doing the same shit. They never went anywhere. They never did anything. They just got older and more foolish as time went on.

Better to have peaked in high school than never peaked at all!

2:26 I'd be more concerned that someone doing that would want to visit Epstein Island
@mattwolf7698Once I graduated high school I never looked back. I never went to proms, class reunions. I was part of the out crowd and have no fond memories of school.
A friend of mine says high school was the best time of his life. I am like, what you got a bad memory? Really sad to feel that way I bet.
2:30 for real. I met my wife in high school but graduated a year before her because she was a grade under me.
That whole year I felt so wrong and conflicted and it was only A YEAR GAP. You have to be a nonce to feel any other way about dating a high schooler when you’re a grown ass man
Knew a guy who thought he was so smart and so desired by every girl in the school. He was in AP courses, played the cello, and was on the tennis team. Turned out his grades were high because of tutor help. He subsequently flunked out of Harvard as he wasn’t able to handle the coursework on his own nor could he handle the different culture and lifestyle of New England. I have no clue what he is up to now though.
@albertwong1182I just realized one of these comme ts is referencing Napolean Dynamite lol.
@kendoruslink7017I hocked my high school ring I my freshman year in college..
@darbyheavey406Keeping your senior yearbook on display at your house.
@trevertravis8963Constantly referring to that time he scored 4 touchdowns in one game decades ago.
@RickJW-OSMI was bullied non-stop in High School. I had boundary issues, which I got by living in an abusive home, that made me an easy target. 44 now, and at least 2 of my bullies are dead.
@SoulConstructI wouldn’t necessarily say hanging out with old friends is peaking high school. Some of these are just as bad as those they’re saying is peaking
@markbass9639It's so funny to hear about people who peaked in high school, because I freaking hated high school! I had nothing in common with any of the kids, and on top of that, I was ostracized! It got to the point that I was ready to drop out and get my GED, just to be done with those arseholes! Graduated in 2003, and never looked back!
@esmooth919Listening to Pop Punk
@RoachDoggJr2112We used to hotbox in the back of the fieldhouse/gym in a tractor
@staymadLol123If you're still socializing or in touch with your hifh school buds, you have gotten nowbere in life. You ought to have gone to college, perhaps a university in another state. Maybe even a big name, Ivy or one of the public Ivies halfway across the country. You should have met otber people, developed a whole different level of social circulation. If you went to work after college, you might have relocated several states away. Perhaps in the military. Perhaps for some corporation, maybe you went to grad school or professional school. You would be with a totally new social circle. Maybe you have earned an MD or JD and moved to an entire new circle of friends and professional associates.
I haven't kept in touch with my high school buddies. We all went ojr seperate ways. I only kept in touch with one army buddy and one college buddy. No contact with any law school associates. I'm retired and moved away several states away. I keep in touch with maybe 3 lawyer pals i had worked with. So if you're still bumming around with your high school buds, gotta ak yourself what have you accomplished.
My girlfriends best friend (she´s a girl called Caroline) wears a letterman jacket to this day... she´s almost 25...
@JCardo2502Okay that tattoo of the score is a bad decision once upon a time and removal might be too expensive or painful. That doesn't mean peaking.
@dennisku3709Secondary school was a strange time for me. I didn't have any real friends until my second year and although we had a lot of fun and I regularly see my friends from school, I have also made lots of new ones up and down the country. I've also travelled the world and nearly finished a degree. I had some fun times, but I'm glad it's over now.
@guitarguy7847I do recall certain parts of hs fondly, my sophomore year was great. I made a lot of friends in hs, lots of whom I'm still in touch with and hang out with. Having said that I am really glad that shit is over. Those pandemic years really took whatever fun there was out of hs and when that shit ended for me in 2021 I was so happy to move on. I pity those who think their peak years were at my school.
@paulsjovold3293It seems like most of these are about football. But, here are the real reasons why high school is good:
- Get 95%+ averages with little to no studying
- No responsibilities and everything taken care of
- See your friends every day
- Only have to be there 5-6 hours a days, plus you get 2 MONTHS vacation + 2 weeks christmas + 1 week valentines and 1 week easter off + random PD days and friday/monday off. (this last point is MOST important)
Objectively, high school is in many ways the 'best' time. Look at the last point again: High school was amazing precisely because of how little time you were forced to be there. Compare that to any job, where you work 8 hours a day monday to friday all year round. If you're lucky you get 4 weeks vacation, if you're REALLY lucky you get 5+ weeks off a year. Point is, you'll never have free time like high school until you retire, or if you somehow get super rich.
These are sad like a level of sad that's new
On some level I wish I could redo Highschool, because y'know no big responsibilities, time to like hang out but adulthood has it's ups sometimes I dunno, plus given how I was in Highschool, quiet kept to myself etc doing that a second time it's not worth it
6:56 yikes
Save for my 3 friends, I don't remember any these guys. Not even the teachers. I am just 32, but it really is like waking up from a bad dream.
Also no workplace is gonna trust some teachers word about your ability. They will train you.
I have one. Basically it’s this kid’s whole life story. His dad (football coach) groomed him to be a star QB by enrolling him in school late so he’d be more developed for his grade. Kid ended up introducing heroin to my hometown en masse along with his best friend, and he now coaches the school’s soccer team.
@solderingironofjustiI never talk about it
@KeitaTheWizardI saw people that peaked in middle school
@emrakultheaeonstorn7430IMO life should be a constant uphill battle. You should always be striving for something you have not yet obtained.
@danthemanspearHigh school was pretty rough for me, a lot of it because I was an underachiever to the point where if I had just put forth slightly more effort than I did, I would’ve done WAY better academically and could’ve had more opportunities to grow, and the fact that I was just very weird and unsociable, so a lot of it was just stuff I did to myself. College was a lot of fun though, I was around classmates and instructors that seemed to make the experience that much more worth it, plus, I was learning stuff that I was interested in a lot more. I even did really good academically in college and was able to finish with no debt, I’d like to say that I’ve grown quite a bit since high school, but I know I have a lot more to do to get to the point I want to be.
@kennyfuhr1095People who still talk about gpa or class rank
@jaedynruliUncle Rico is what peaking in high school looks like.
@CamtheMacOoof, that's some painful cringe. Makes me feel glad I hate everything and everyone from highschool, and that I've forgotten/repressed most of the memories.
@XunkunThe Statler Brothers have a terrific song "The Class of '57" - this Reddit reminded me of their song. The song includes the lines "The class of '57 had its dreams/ But living life from day to day is never what it seems".
I'm Canadian - high school cheer leading has never been a big deal here so it always blows my mind when an American who's now a famous journalist, actress, etc. still brings up in interviews that they were one. \WTH is with that??
I peaked at birth. It was all downhill from there.
@jhhwildWhat’s worse Twitter or Reddit?
@louiswebtserStill wearing my jock mullet and working out at 33.
@DAsradaBeing a cop screams I peaked in high school.
@adamsandlersspleenOne of the most popular guys I attended school with dated one of the prettiest varsity cheerleaders and lettered in multiple sports. He even went on to join the USMC, but when he was stationed in SoCal. He tried picking up what he thought was a 16 year old girl over the internet. That person turned out to be an undercover cop. Several years later he is back in Missouri and married and he got caught on nanny cam. Going into his daughter's room and now he is doing thirty years for child molestation. He was about the last person anyone I was in school with would have suspected. Yet, when I was a freshman, there was something I sensed about him and it gave me a off feeling. Yet, many of the popular kids I was in school with made fun of me constantly and in some cases bullied me.
@elijahwilson1422Most guys that were popular in high school go on to lead average lives afterwards.
@elijahwilson1422Going to class reunions all of them!!! And the ones who start talking bout reunions three yrs before it happens!!!!
@brucedavis3816Most of these are fake or from people in their early 20s
@PhonyBalagnaAll the people lurking on their classmates FB....
@PhonyBalagnaTrying to one up someone with internet slander 20 years after the fact ..
@tommy2longviewI dropped out in 10th grade so I never got to experience this.
@YourwifesBF42069I still wear my class ring for a few reasons: it's too pricey to just throw away, out of convenience, and it's stuck on my finger for the most part
@mostar121914:32 so Harry Potter was a lie
@ride-playerbb2818Do American really just break contact with their high school friends once school ends?
@fz7091I lolled out of a thread mill when I heard “pedo dave”
@victormartins1191Going back to high school is my worst nightmare.
