I don't quite follow your explanation about up and North. Certainly you're right that one can conceptualize a direction perpendicular to the direction of the sun's travel, but that doesn't explain why that same direction would be perceived as "up" when it is not, in fact, up relative to a human standing on the Earth.

My guess would be that the phrase up north originates from the United States, from a prospective relative to Virginia, but I don't have any idea whether people conceptualized North as up prior to that.

I think the main factor in the conjoined case would be the discretion required for the marital act. I think there is no way to undergo the marital act while attached to another conscious human being without nearly all the same problems of voyeurism, including inappropriate indiscretion violating the sanctity of the act, very real occasionfor mortally sinful sexual thoughts about someone else's husband and especially from the husband to her, etc. It seems inherently immoral because of the violations to the sanctity of the marital act to me. This situation seems just as much trafficking regatting the implications for marriage because someone who is, for example, born without reproductive organs.

I have a question not sure if its weird i have been given what im told is really rare dispensation from confession due to brain damage cognitive issues and past religious trauma anyway will i have to keep getting this dispensation every time my diocese gets a new bishop? we have had our current one for 10 years now ive only been catholic for almost 6 now i really hope i dont have to keep trying at this every time we get a new bishop

I'm going to say that time travel to the past is impossible. If it were possible, the Bible would already talk about strange people who showed up at events just to watch them unfold, then left and never returned. There is no character in the Bible that strikes me as someone who travelled back in time to meet Jesus, for example. I suppose there is the chance that some did do this, and then Jesus forbade the apostles from ever talking about the person or writing down what happened.

Anytime I see something involving aliens and the Catholic Church, like in the thumbnail image here, I can’t help but think about the obvious avoidance of discussing aliens with someone like Daniel O’Connor. This is my informal request of Catholic Answers to invite a different theological point of view than that of Jimmy Akin (who I learn a ton from as a great Catholic apologist) to talk about extraterrestrial life. Mainstream Catholic content like Catholic Answers, Pints With Aquinas, and Fr. Spitzer simply just doesn’t seem to entertain or engage he with someone like Daniel O’Connor and I really wonder why.

Time is in one way sequential and in another way relative. If we are now in sequential time, the only relative example would be our ability to record a video of what is present and can be retrieved in the future. Just like our podcasts. It is not a true wholly physical experience but a partial physical and intellectual experience. Eternity would be access to experiences without sequence. This is above our physical intelligence due to the speed of the energy needed in our physical brain. Since God is not physical, not experiencing sequence is not a limitation. How the experience is understood would be a mystery. P.S. Maybe in one way since we will be reunited with our body in the resurrection, a glorified body, it will have properties that will accommodate new physics that are not natural in this universe. So, it may still have new abilities but maybe it will still not be to the extent of God.

Saw Forbidden Planet in a Film class I took to pad out one of my last semesters of college in 2005, just needed an easy elective. The course covered film from roughly 1920 to 1960, and despite going into it viewing the class as just a throw away elective to finish out my credit hour requirements as I had finished most of my major, it actually introduced me to a lot of great films and gave me a much deeper appreciation of film in general. Forbidden Planet is a timeless classic and I think virtually any fan of movies will enjoy it.

In case 1, cellular/genetic testing would likely not be helpful because conjoined twins are monozygotic and thus genetically identical. Even if mitochondrial heteroplasmy were observed, this would not necessarily define whose body parts are whose. Anatomical analysis via non-invasive imaging would work better, but there could still be truly shared structures. In that case, it would be much easier to be the physician than the priest.
