The scariest and most heart breaking part of the movie for me was when Alex's parents start stabbing themselves and Alex can't stop them. From that point on the story becomes Alex trying to save his parents, nothing else matters. It ties up perfectly well with the theme of addiction/alcoholism and seeing your loved ones hurt themselves with it without you being able to stop them and while clearly seeing the damage they are causing to themselves, specially when they themselves are not being aware of it. That scene is so horrible, literally made me cry...

Me and my friends were watching this while drunk and during the scene where it shows 2:17 I say “oh shit it’s 2:17 rn” as a joke because we knew it was around that time and when we look at our phones it showed 2:17. …. Needless to say we were scared shitless the whole night

I love that old fine ass Josh Brolin, but this movie feels like two day old champagne. It just keeps giving me Pied Piper silliness and it doesn’t hold my attention. Josh is fine, and as I write this watching the scene when he’s posted outside the house of a concern parent…..it still is falling flat.

Naruto run...that's the first thing I thought during the movie when Thano...(Archer)......I mean brolin the actor said "hes seen that run before"........poor Wu.....Dr. strange will fix that in the 3rd film the MCU makes.

The police did interview everyone and they also searched the area and the house where the children were being held. The police Captain said that the Feds showed up too and were still looking into it. What’s unrealistic though is that law enforcement or the Feds would’ve circled back around to that house and likely setup surveillance around the area for a while.
The Witch had the children all run off into the woods before the police searched the house and her and Alex cleaned the inside of house and the backyard.
My head cannon speculation for the ending is that the police investigated the scene and contacted the Feds again and the Feds covered it up and put the case into an X-file and made the official narrative that the old woman poisoned or brainwashed the parents and the children and imprisoned them for unknown reasons.

I think Gladys has visited Alex without the parents' knowledge since they say it's been 15 years but Gladys tells Alex it's been since he was a baby, about 8 years ago.
Edit: What if Gladys did some sort of spell in Alex as a baby and imbued him with a power. That could be why she didn't turn Alex after he did her bidding. That's why she kept him alive bc she had other plans for him.

When the cop catches the tweaker, it started to turn into an episode of The Wire. It got good. The storyline was woven really well.

Ok so Weapons reveals that Gladys the witch was behind the kidnapping of the kids. After having arrived in the town she went to live at the Lillys. That was the home of alex and his two parents which were quickly put under her spell.

@punitaiyengar6988When Gladys tells the principal that Alex’ parents have “a touch of consumption”, she means that she consumed a touch of their life force and/or the parents are only consuming a touch of food from the can of soup Alex feeds them. Now that I think about it, the scene where Gladys force’s the parents to stab themselves with forks is because she views them as nothing more than food for her consumption.
I think the bell with the 6 and the triangle does represent 666 because if you place a 6 on the 3 corners or the 3 sides of the triangle, you see 666.
One last thing, did anyone else see that picture frame of the lion in the mirror when Alex moves away from the mirror in his bathroom. It may symbolize the strength, courage, or power Alex has and will use to stop Gladys.
(Sigh)😮💨 Okay… For real this time… one last thing… Alex’ father calls Alex Axe-man in the movie which is also a weapon that goes along with the title and theme of the movie.
So now they're telling us all the missing kids are going to come kill us...🤔🤫😂 ... 2030 Just saying 😊
