We Cooked Every Chicken in the World to See if There's Any Difference
Video Overview & Insights
Does chicken breed actually matter? In this ultimate taste test, we butcher, cook, and compare every type of chicken we could find, from the cheap supermarket Cornish Cross to rare French breeds like Bresse, Marans, and Périgord.
Mark up 4 or 5 times what the produce costs.
Half a chicken for OVER £200 is not 4 or 5 times, thank feck you can chef because you'll make a crap accountant 😂
Honestly, this is why I buy premium ingredients and cook it myself...
Each chicken is cooked the same way and judged on flavour, texture, and value for money to discover which one truly deserves the title of the best chicken in the world. Along the way, we visit farms, explore how breed, welfare, and feed affect flavour, and uncover why French poultry has become the gold standard for chefs everywhere.
Featuring:
Do the same for eggs please? best eggs boiled and fried. thanks for another great vid.
Cornish Cross – the supermarket staple
Norfolk Black and Indian Game – heritage British breeds
Where is Black astrolorb or RIR😢
Freedom Ranger – America’s take on free range
Bresse – the most expensive chicken in the world
for the french ones, you paid like twice the price we pay in France
Plus many more rare and historic breeds
You’ll learn how farming practices and breed genetics change the way chicken tastes, what “free range” and “organic” really mean, and why some chickens cost £80 while others cost £3.
Can we please at least not support the market of force feeding or crate caging

Roasting a silkie is criminal
@HeartlessXiao-d9u23:50 i honestly thought u were gonna say: the history behind it, you go on a honeymoon and you wanna eat some tortured chicken.
i will never stop eating meat, but i prefeer to know that the food am eating didnt have to suffer to get onto my plate.
i get there will always be pain at some step of the way for the animal, atleast when they kill the animal, but for the love of god, please dont hurt the animal more than nessesary, id rather have a slightly tougher chicken than have it stuck in a wooden box for weeks .
hence chicken am very picky about, i raise my own for food and eggs, but if i buy a chicken at the supermarket, its gonna be free range at the very least.
cows and pigs normally get more humane treatment considering they are basicly just big pets, cows and pigs are both very friendly and if you are not careful when raising them, you can get very attached to them very quicky. ive raised cows, chickens, quails, ducks, pigs, goats, sheep, turkeys and horses, all you get very attached to unless you remember that either they are for work or they are for food(horse meat is very much a thing here in sweden, but ive never eaten my own horses)
1 of my best meals in France was a Bresse Chicken at LeMIllieux. Brilliant bird!
@chefbarona3052lol 😂 soon as you say one is four times more expensive and smaller. You’re paying for the birds good life
@stevenlucero2142Maybe cause you guys never had pollo loco. 10/10 lol
@M3X1C4N92I used to live with a French woman who's father lived in Bresse where you saw these skinny chickens running around everywhere as well as frames used to store corn cobs which, along with whatever they foraged, was their prime food. One evening we went to a restaurant and had Poulet di Bresse and as Jack said " This is a once in a lifetime chicken", it almost ruined chicken for me.
@davidwilson9264you missed the chance to say "the breast of the bresse til last" ... close.. but not quite
@hubbahdabutBest chicken I have ever had was chicken cooked on a barbecue over in St Lucia, even the roast chickens at the all inclusive buffets tasted amazing, as for the eggs, next level.
@northeast7412Ratings are biased.
@melodiesoflife9191I told my friend that you should cook him, but he didn't want to. I guess you can say that he's such a chicken.
@aeropureinhakase855"Chinese medicinal...department" 😂😂
@crescentmon7Video Summary: Anything from England great, outside eeeewwww.
@anthonysena2505This world here is Europe, mostly UK and France and one chicken from China. The countries where chicken actually came from do not figure on this list at all.
@bruceborgesPress a like if youre vegan and this pissed you off. Every like means everything.
#eatmoremeat #pissoffvegan
Best I have had is in East Africa....The chicken was just so flavoursome
@dman-v1vYou should put the name of each chicken with the rating, Robert is screaming out the rating, for what? You're mentioning each chicken at the beginning, but if these are foreign to the viewer, it's not rememrable.
@TranquilStreams101003:30 You can see the chicken staying close to the coop. They don't like large open pastures as those are risky because of predators. The chicken farmer should know that if he cares about a good life for them. Put the coop in between some trees.
@mcb4585The Chinese chicken def gunna be a saucy slow cooked thing for sure
@edwardbisono9889Les poulets ne sont pas gavé les êtes vous des cuisiniers je suis sur que non
@GerardCharlierVous ne connaissez rien en volaille je suis un spécialiste vous médiocre
@GerardCharlierWhat about the "Irish Game Foul" roaming the countryside since the medieval period ...I'm sure there better than a lot of these ....
@kukullen_8546Chefs... you did NOT just eat a Silkie chicken!! thats a pet, its like eating a golden retriever. There are other breeds of all black chickens that are bred for eating. I should also point out the lack of any Thai/Malaysian/Indonesian chicken breeds, since every single breed of chicken in the whole wide world originates from, and are the descendants of the Red Jungle Fowl, native to Southeast Asia, specifically Thailand; whom also have been raising chicken for culinary and sporting purposes thousands of years before they were introduced to China, Japan, the Middle East via the Silk Road, and to western Europe only about a 1000 years ago. Chicken meat still is and always was popular in SEA, the farmers are proud of their breeds, and the restaurant owners prefer local chicken because of their superior taste down to the bone. Similar to the the French breeds, they tend to be muscular, and because of that, their dark meat is more packed with flavor compounds. Please try to get your hands on some chefs.
@somerandomshit555every chicken in the world? more like in europe...
@umararshad2601yep - 100% would never buy ANY of them. > $100 USD for a chicken is insanity!
How they are prepared, brine, seasoned, cooked is determining at a minimum of 95% of the final product.
So many mistakes/changes/changing preparation styles occur that any 'breed difference' just becomes irrelevant in my personal opinion.
Pretty sure UK chickens get washed with water after plucking; that said, water there does have clorine in it...
@Neighbor_Jekwhen you taste something from other countries you need to blind test test
@markbolton4142I keep the original Thai jungle Fowl that was used to breed Chickens. They are super tasty,
@bornfreeprepperthailandThe BBC joke in there was 😂
@gothmaugenlamb from different countries would be interesting , in USA it is mostly Australia
@ywdwarnerI got a feeling you missed a number of bird. But I dont know
@aljeandropacheco3608love your videos but certain breeds really are not meant to be prepared that way - would rather it be nixed from the lineup entirely. hope you boys get a chance to enjoy a proper silkie chicken broth one day x
@Go-GosChannelThe rating these guys do is all over the place with little to no consistency
@darthnihilus1608Where's the Road runner from Southern Africa
@markwillies7666You guys should do a Pulled Chicken or Shredded Chicken recipe
