Was Confessions II Worth the 20-Year Wait? ★ REVIEW
Video Overview & Insights
This is my review of Madonna’s Confessions II, one of the Queen of Pop’s most anticipated albums in 2 decades. Does the album truly live up to the legacy of Confessions on a Dance Floor (2005)? How does Confessions II fit into Madonna’s discography? What does it say about her current era? And can Madonna successfully revisit the album that helped redefine her career for a new generation of fans?
Such a good review! Couldn’t agree more

This is your review and you are entitled to your opinion but I don’t think you really get this artist and the depths of her work

I’m sorry, you need 15 years of clubbing raving to make a point about what work or not on a dance floor. No Shade.
@menegaeuDamn this was brutal. I do agree, it doesn’t surpass Confessions 1 - though that record is not without its own flaws. But I do disagree with you about most of the tracks in the latter half, and I think this could’ve been easily remedied if she included at least one more dance heavy track, possibly as the final track to close out the album, at times it felt more like a spiritual successor to Ray of Light than CoaDF, and I’m okay with that. I disagree with your 3 star rating, even though I understand where you’re coming from, but for me, taking into account that it’s Madonna - and at nearly 70 she gave a record like this that just feels so luxurious from beginning to end, and to honour her legacy it’s got to be a 4/5 for me personally. I do hope we get some more music videos, perhaps full versions of the ones featured in the 'short film'.
@gagalover2k10i have to say, its good to have her back!! i agree with most of your takes!
@jck7316With all due respect, THE ENTIRE ALBUM ATE. It had high club moments and then faded into chill club moments. I would've been annoyed if the entire album was hyper GENERIC dance music. I love that she added rawness and mellowness at the end. It was giving Erotica and Ray of Light.
@CocolocohermosoI didn’t think anything could be worse than Madame X. This is so disappointing
@toddpardoe1352Respectfully, what you ask of her is to make a brat-style album. And that shows your taste level. She has never been about all sound no substance (no shade to Charli whom I love)
@laslowboyBizarre is all about her Ex-husband Sean Penn, Fragile is about the death of her brother, while Betrayal is about her complex relationship with her dead Stepmother. So definitely the second half of the album is very introspective . Confessions 2 is one of her most personal and greatest productions in 20 years.
So I disagree with ur review because it seems u only focused on the surface and didn't probed and analyzed deeper. Remember, Dance music for Madonna is not only to feel joy and be euphoric, but also to think and analyze the words and emotions inside each track.
My Sins are My Saviouir samples My Army of Lovers, from the group Army of Lovers, the french speaking idea is also directly copied from that record.
@catschorus4684Your Madonna opinions are always so weird and wrong. Do some research before making these ?!
@clevm002Merci pour cette critique, j'ai hâte de l'écouter !
@AudreyLHMI'm just happy she and her team tried to do a good album, commit to a theme and deliver. You can like it more or less but for me it's her best album since Confessions1.. It sounds like they put the work and time to release something solid.
@AndyxayI need to remind this is "Confessions II" not "Confessions on a dance floor". If you want hear "COADF", go to listen. "Confessions II" is a spiritual continuation, not a copy.
@caioferreira15Girl…😒
@ANGELIC_DIVA_This is a very disappointing album. Some cool beats...LES Girls is good.. One Step Away... but mostly just nothing groundbreaking nor revolutionary at all. Crap.
@jartoberGays used to be more intelligent than this.
@GhulamAlBatinwhat a flop
@The.new.gandhiOMG what a terrible review......I could not even watch to the end......BYE
@cultimatyta3164My God, tell me your basic without saying you are basic…absolutely horrid review! I understand that this is your personal point of view, but.. your taste level… sweetie… no! HUGE thumbs down!
@robjacobs6168It’s not a bad album, but I need to play it a few times to digest it / have a real opinion.
@theroseyshow2021So basically you only liked the generic song with the cyborg carpenter + dancetereria... Poor review and channel
@gauchosonico82Nobody cares about your gym playlist please
@gauchosonico82Carpenter is so nothing and generic. Is she a cyborg?
@gauchosonico82One step away is THE SONG of the album
@gauchosonico82Love without words one of the best tracks in the album
@hectorrobles9367I'm not gonna lie I think this one is better than the first confessions
@LanaPistola5 mins in im struggling to follow through with this review.
@ymd2516Finally Kylie is not in the album. The first Confessions is my favourite álbum and this new one is very bored, nothing new.
@OxfordRoad538love without words is awesome
@jayfajanilag1798Im in enemy zone definitely 😂😂😂 u like the ones I dont and u disliked the ones I loved, oh well
@tommypicklez8285I guess I'm the lone wolf because SCHOOL is hot! Sick beat with house elements stripped raw and drony. It's the after party!!!
@Mrjodargopoor review, need to do some research again
@jayfajanilag1798This album is exactly like a 90s club night with dips and highs across the night. As always she had put powerful meaningful and personal lyrics to music. I feel that much criticism comes from underdeveloped taste in music.
@sykogeminiI’m not loving this new album
@lifeisnotwhatyouthinkIf you really did your research Fragile is an ode to to her brother that she had no part in his life before and after he released his tell all book. She ghosted him for years until shortly before his death and this track is about losing her closest sibling with regret, sorrow and making peace this song has the most meaning on the album!
@PaulMichael-y7q1 is better this album is boring, Kylie so should been on it aswel not carpenter
@shaunhoward6838the reason why confessions II is not meeting ‘your expectations’ is because this album is most probably her last album that ends her career, and i think it makes sense that she wanna make it more personal/ looking back on her career , and you might be able to tell some songs have their own reference to her past songs/ albums
Betrayal is sharing the same musical blueprint as Where Life Begins in her 90’s album Erotica and the ‘unrelated’ ’skippable’ songs that you said, her song with Lola is more like a personal piece when you look into the lyrics, Madonna opens with the lyrics ‘little star’ directly referring to the song as Lola’s lullaby from the album Ray of Light.
Bizarre has amazing 90s dance music sample incorporated with modern synth sounds
And I have no words if you think Love without Words is bad but liking Everything, they are reminding me of her ray of light era a lot
But I agree confessions II do not have the same strong opening and I agree some of the songs are not as phenomenal, like love sensation and the French one. But c’mon it has a much more stable quality but not like confessions I with unorganised songs!
I understand it’s a short period of time for you to make a review, and it takes time to truly appreciate what she wants to bring out, but not just shallowly define the songs as good or bad based on how bad you wanna ‘put it in your gym playlist ‘
Remember the standard CD and most vinyl versions only have 12 tracks as standard. So maybe re look at your review minus the last 4 bonus tracks
