Hopefully Brisbane will give Madge the boot soon, and he can then get back to coaching the Blues.

Here’s the facts, Queensland hasn’t won at the MCG since 1995. In fact, ever since the first Origin match to take place in the MCG back in 1994, NSW are 5-1, beating Queensland 14-0 in 1994, falling 12-20 to Queensland in 1995, and then going on an undefeated streak with wins in 1997 (15-14), 2015 (18-26), 2018 (12-22), and 2024 (38-18). Of ALL those games, 2018 was the only one that was the first game in the series, every other game was the second one. And also, of all the games played at the MCG, an Origin series has been clinched twice, the first by Queensland in 1995 (they swept the series 3-0 that year), and the second by NSW in 1997 (NSW would win 2-1 in 1997). That’s right, this is the first time NSW are heading into the MCG, a very successful venue for them, with a win already under their belt since 1997. That’s 29 years. Should this year be the third year an Origin series is clinched at the MCG? No, it won’t. And there is a very simple reason why I, despite being a diehard Blues fan, believe the Maroons will finally break their losing streak and keep the series alive tomorrow night. Game 3 being a decider draws FAR more money instead of simply being a potential clean sweep game. V’landys loves money more than anything, and he has sullied the game of rugby league immensely in his pursuit for more money. I won’t hold that against him, that’s just capitalism baby. But that does mean Origin becomes very easy to predict. Whoever wins Game 1 is almost always guaranteed to lose Game 2 so Game 3 gets as much investment and interest as possible. It is very simple pattern recognition. And with what we know now about Klein, it is no wonder he has been consistently given the privilege to officiate Origin. He is the reliable fall guy to ensure a result goes the way V’landys wants. The controversy surrounding the send off in Game 1? A happy accident that did nothing but bring more attention to the game, which brings more interest and traffic, which means more money. NSW performing poorly or being penalised completely out of the match like at Perth last year? That forces a decider, EXACTLY what V’landys wants since that is where the most money is. You watch, Klein is going to be incredibly trigger happy with the whistle on every Blues infraction tomorrow night, but the Maroons will be given leniency because the NRL are going to want a decider so they can make the most money. This isn’t me trying to make excuses for the Blues, this is me pointing out the blatant pattern. I KNEW we weren’t winning the series in Perth last year because the NRL will always want a decider, just like I knew the Maroons weren’t winning the series in Melbourne in 2024 for the exact same reason (along with our stellar record at the MCG, that also played a factor). The only reason there is interest in the series is because it can still be won by either state. If the Blues win tomorrow night, what’s left to talk about? The Shield has already been won, interest in Game 3 will be almost non existent, and that will mean less money, and that makes V’landys very sad indeed.

Blues should win well but no haumole is bad and the company may decide on a decider or klein has a confidant in another country betting on maroon
