The same artist who put the bull Infront of the New York stock exchange in 1989 placed a slightly smaller version of the bull Infront of the Amsterdam stock exchange also without telling anyone.

Excellent excellent video thank you

The passive language of 9/11 was very offputting. Planes were intentionally flown by Islamic terrorists into those buildings to destroy them and murder civilians in an attack against America.

Wall street was where the stock market was founded. The stock that was being sold were slaves.
Again white washing American History.

I thought you were gonna include the black history part. How do you miss the fact that back ppl owned the land first. Then even wen y’all settled , it was still black people residing in the area
You went back so far but clearly your audience are diff from me

Not one mention about slavery? And this guy is supposed to be an educator. Omitting parts and telling falsehoods about history are one in the same. And at the end, he talks about the lost historical stories of New York. The irony 😂

Great Channel! I've learned so much...I spent many years Downtown and I never knew these facts. I just love History, don't you?

This is great, but you left out the slave market that was housed in lower manhattan as well as the mass grave of enslaved africans that is still there today.

No mention of how it was black slaves were used to fight against the indigenous natives back from the area.

There is a great honesty about this: the 'British' took over from the Dutch...but then they rebelled against their King and became independent. There is a reason why the Swiss-Amish people still today call Americans "Englishmen" 🙂To begin with they were simply British colonists who broke away from the monarchy and set up their own government! (Very reasonably too, if you ask me.) But nations in the New World that arose from European colonies which became independent sometimes have a strange blind spot about their origin. I recently heard how a guy from Argentina was saying how the Spanish came over did X, Y and Z "to us". By "us" he meant the indigenous South American population. But here's a thing: most people in Argentina today speak Spanish and they largely descend from precisely those Spanish dudes...

Daniel, excellent job with these videos. As an educator I think the work you are doing is really top notch. However, one error is the picture you are using of the "Dutch with the Native American." (0:51) The picture you are using is actually Penn's Treaty with the Indians by Benjamin West. This took place on the banks off the Delaware in (soon to be) Philadelphia. (Sorry, I worked in the museum field for years in Philly and the area.)

there's nothing quite as educational about the history of NY out there. At least nothing as compelling/unbiased politically. Purely educational. this is good! more of this if you can keep it coming x

God Bless Capitalism. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy and proud to be an American. Capitalism is really the controlling party in America; neither Democrat nor Republican, and almost invisible as a party. Trinity Church is an example of how God wants us to be Capitalist.
