Utah goes viral because there is so much conformity, it looks scripted. It’s a bizarre mix of the Truman Show and Stepford Wives. From teenage-looking weddings, soda bars, leg poses, jorts, and spray tans, a high-control religion shaped the timelines, aesthetics, and social rewards of the entire state of Utah. Even people who leave Mormonism still live inside the system it built, where conformity = righteousness and perfection is currency. This video zooms out from Utah hair to explain why Utah feels like a social experiment hiding in plain sight.

That wedding gown is the same gown my fiance niece wore to her wedding … yeah Mormons, in the temple where all family were excluded and had to sit outside including parents and grandparents . Sad .

It's so funny when Christians make fun of Mormons for being "cult members".
Everyone else looks at you the same way you look at Mormons.

Mormons are very similar to sunni Muslims to me. They have a very legalistic outlook towards their beliefs and they navigate the world as if God doesn't know their heart and actively try find loopholes in their own doctrine

NPR is garbage these days… full on liberal and controlled by the media… their biggest sponsor is the media itself 🤷♂️ such as Connie Ballmer giving $80M to NPR 🤔 who is also part of Obama Foundation. I used to listen to it but I realized who was actually contributing to their funding. He who holds the resources control the narrative

I occasionally think about how the only reason my mom didn’t want to join my dad in being a Mormon was solely because she didn’t not want to give up coffee she could give up smoking, and all that stuff but drew the line at giving up her morning coffee 😭

0:41 Not just a gas-station, 😊 It is: Maverik... A good store also, for those in a rush to be someplace. (Several YouTubers show this place). 😆👍
@rockercoverYou are so funny. Utah does have bad drivers, but it's not some experiment. It has great mountain biking.
@CosmicPenI feel so odd knowing that I live in a state that's so well known. And not for red rock
@Dusty_ART_Having lost my Alfred (rescue grt dane/mastiff × boxer) to a massive heart attack on NYE eve of 2020, I have some notion of what you're going through losing Buds & my heart truly goes out to you.
I am incredibly thankful for Boo (the little Shar Pei-by I rehomed in January 2021) as she has helped me work through & learn to live with my grief.
I know some might say rehoming her the month following his passing that she is "a replacement", but anyone who's ever owned a dog, will be able to atest that one fur-baby can never be a substitute for another!
She was just a dog in need of a loving new home—I had a home & lots of love, but without a dog to give it to, so it felt like a perfect union of two souls in need of each other.
She is my constant companion & has been of great help in my struggles to turn a former landfill site into a natural burial ground.
Boo & I wish you all the best of luck with your own land revival project.xx
The Christians making fun of Mormons in the comments saying “so you can do X but not Y” when you Christians are doing them all. Even most your babies are born out of wedlock so I wouldn’t be pointing fingers
@NoMan-pp1jqcame here with exacly 500ml of coffe, in one bowl, because it is too big to be a cup
@julias1674As someone who just moved to SLC, Utah with no mormon background, I can say that SLC isn't really very mormon. It's surprisingly diverse here and most people I run into are not mormon.
@michaeldundas6620utah and mormonism as a culture just does not feel real
its like a cultural liminal space, a cultural uncanny vally, like they are genuinely stuck in the 1960s as if all of utah was a time travel anomaly
For context on scale my stake in Virginia was the size of all of Montgomery county and my stake in orem was around a quarter mile
@Yucon2550Mormonism vs. Biblical Christianity: 6 Major Differences — For the Gospel https://share.google/rWJWfnJvE0wmG2FuV
@KirkMDossey47:37 i can't lie, hayes haze and hayze on the same attendance sheet ended my life prematurely EDIT: fucksake i didn't even see RAYGUN
@pitifulinvertebrateMormonism is just freemasonry clothed in another “dress”
@breakthedeceptionSomething I think is crazy, is that so many girl my LDS cousins who live in Utah are friends with, aren’t even allowed to date until they are like 16, but are then pressured to be married at 18, that is two years! TWO YEARS! To figure out how to want to go about dating, to go from “no boys!” To “you need to be on the hunt for your perfect Mormon man” is crazy to me
@Christ-Is-My-LifeMy LDS cousin got back from his mission in like July of 2025, went to Utah state university, met a girl there, started dating her around December, and they are getting married in august. They had to reserve the date for the temple place BEFORE THEY WERE ENGAGED, oh and he proposed in like April? May? Spring sometime, so they were planning the wedding date in April, 4 MONTHS AFTER THEY HAD BEEN DATING
@Christ-Is-My-Life19:53 Christian here, i am planning to wait until after marriage, but I will definitely make it clear no jokes of that kind will be allowed, who knows, i might be so exhausted after my wedding that I don’t even feel like it, either way, the jokes are inappropriate, and also ik for bachelorette parties or bridal showers it’s common to get the bride lingerie, yea I will say absolutely not cause i want to have my little cousins there and I’m certain not comfortable pulling out a skimpy bodysuit thingy in front of a ten year old or my grandma for that matter lol
@Christ-Is-My-LifeI've never lived in Utah however my mother's side of the family is incredibly Mormon. They're descendants of the Heber C Kimball brood. I'm sure I'm related to, at least, 50% of the Mormon population. . .
@adam7190why don't they ever look up who Joseph smith really was or how mormonism is rooted in occult freemasonry ? zion 😂
@MissMiss-w2iOoooo-ta sometimes feels like America's dprk. Not often, but sometimes.
@VIadlVRaygun Steele is an insanely cool name
@H4hT5344:13 can't drink green tea but botox is fine ... i'll never understand religious hypocrisy
@actual_tangerineHow is muslim hyper religious and grouped with evangelical and Jehovah witness
@zzzafu"we are overdo for a wedding redo" What the heck does that mean? Can someone explain?
@MrGhaundanWhy do all the women look the same, Even north Koreans have more differentiation than these women in the video. Pretty scary if everyone wants "look " like each other.
@thisshitisreal9840"Religious underwear" wasn't a term I was expecting to hear.
@ChthonicMidnightstep away from the gas stations 😭
@tea.addict8æ1:01:00 I wonder as well if people are having to google divorce to learn about what it means/entails/implies, because it is so shunned in those places people don’t grow up hearing about it. Like, i don’t need to google divorce because I’ve witnessed it plenty of times in my life and know how it works. In conservative places, that’s not the case.
I’ve just looked up “homosexuality” to see if this holds in other areas, and I think it does: wyoming is ahead by a MILE, and kansas/virginia/arkansas/tennessee/mississippi/kentucky are all in the top 10. Famously gay states are middling or bottom.
Another day where I am glad I was not born in the US.
@GeirEivindMorkgas stations are about the only 3rd place left where you might encounter people doing the same thing you are.
@jedahnI'm not a big fan of the LDS theology & don't believe in their religion, but there's something very wholesome about these Utah trends compared to the horror-shows we see coming out of TikTok from other cities/states. Violence, over-sexualization, drug/alcohol-abuse, etc.
@Audentior_ItoBaggy clothes and flat blond hair with too much makeup looking like la five years ago? Must be in Utah
@LiLTTSugarBear1Had to bust out my stone seeing jaspers.
