Types of Data: Nominal, Ordinal, Interval/Ratio - Statistics Help

Video Overview & Insights

The kind of graph and analysis we can do with specific data is related to the type of data it is. In this video we explain the different levels of data, with examples.

You say you can't calculate mean for nominal data, and then in Psychology IAL Edexcel October 2016 question 7 (a) (i) asks to calculate the mean of the number of times boys played with cars (in the scenario)
and then 7 (c)'s justification for why they use Chi squared test in the mark scheme is "They collected Nominal data"
I am so confuseddd broo

I have a response variable called skin yellowness, which I will measure via a scored color chart, whereby 1 is pale yellow and 15 is orange. I'm not sure if this counts as an ordinal variable, because the scale is numerical and is basically a value for pigmentation (making it a numerical variable) or if it is ordinal, because the score suggests some sort of order. Can anyone help?
