Tunnel of Love (Full Episode) | Secrets of the Zoo

Video Overview & Insights

Sea lions rejoice! Long awaited Adventure Cove finally opens. Plus, a tiny loris and beloved iguana present strange mystery illnesses.

31:42 I’ve always been more of a “furry animal” kind of person, but watching the segment on Boss the iguana really opened my eyes. His chill, affectionate personality reminded me so much of my senior rescue dog — calm, trusting, and full of character. I never thought I’d feel this connected to a reptile through a screen! The way his team worried about him, checking his weight and doing CT scans, was so moving. I'm so relieved it wasn’t cancer, even if we still don’t have a full answer. Reptiles deserve just as much compassion as mammals — has anyone else here changed how they feel about reptiles after seeing Boss?

About Secrets of the Zoo:

One of the largest and most popular zoos in the U.S., Ohio's renowned Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and its conservation park The Wilds, houses more than 10,000 animals on 12,000 acres. It's also the part-time home of beloved wildlife guru Jack Hanna, the zoo's director emeritus. Now, Nat Geo Wild is taking viewers inside the grounds and allowing them to experience what visitors can't: compelling, heartwarming stories, and behind-the-scenes moments and adventures. "Secrets of the Zoo" introduces both the animals and the legions of workers who create unforgettable connections between people and wildlife.

Bonus Comment: Grand Canyon Blue Iguana sighting 2:41, 2:49-2:53, 4:27, 4:36, 5:02-5:04, 5:09-5:10, 16:17, 16:31 “on the stump.”, 29:52 & 30:17 Me: So, There’s a Grand Canyon Blue Iguana featured on Secrets of the Zoo. Hmm… I wonder if that Dinosaur like Big Fella appeared on the other episodes of the 4 seasons on DVD? I better check them out soon. Oh & I just realized that this is episode is from the 5th Season. Somehow, Someday the 5th Season better be coming to DVD just like the other 4 Seasons. I like Grand Canyon Blue Iguanas. Just as I like their close relatives the Exuma Iguanas AKA the Northern Bahama Iguanas & the Cuban Rock Iguanas. Those Caribbean Iguanas looked very Prehistoric looking.

Those Iguanas on this program. If I didn’t know any better but I think they might be 2 different species. The one that was given a medical checkup was a Black Spiny Tailed Iguana. The other one that is slightly larger must be a Grand Cayman Blue Iguana. At least I think that’s what that Larger Iguana is. Like I know different Iguanas when I see them. As much as other different Reptiles.

The last straw for me watching this show was when a happy little goat named Kiko went in for a simple checkup and died minutes after the checkup from cardiac arrest. This kind of thing was happening too often on this show. If these animals could speak, they would be talking 'Malpractice.'
