I watched The Return last night on Paramount+.
Slow and boring movie...my recommendation is to pass it up.
Better watch the better 1954 movie with Kirk Douglas called Ulysses.
FYI Ulysses and Odysseus are the same person.

Great list. Fantastic films....Except "The return".That one was boring. No point! The only scene that may wake you up is the ending. The whole film only points to that last scene after a very long wait.

The Return was absolute crap. Lame and boring and it was remarkable to see how many Sub-Saharan blacks were in ancient Ithaka 3,200 years ago. There actually weren't any. Downfall is terrific!

Outlaw king was literally freaking incredible…I really only watch historical Epochs and Outlaw King has my vote…I love Greco Roman history the most, but my god Outlaw King was accurate and incredible

History and Netflix don’t usually go hand in hand.

Downfall is the kind of film that anyone (with a basic sense of and interest in history) who watches it can never ever forget it thereafter as long as he or she is alive! The portrayal of Hitler by Bruno Ganz was simply out of this world...what a terrific performance in a terrific film !

Besides there are quite a number of non-american historical movies that are far better than those on the list - The Admiral: Roaring Currents (South Korea, 2014), The Admiral (The Netherlands 2015), Oba The Last Samurai (Japan, 2011), Ayla Daughter of War (Turkiye, South Korea, 2017) to name a few.
