For the best results, I recommend using a kitchen scale to measure ingredients in grams, as this gives the most accurate and consistent outcome. But no worries! i have include cup measurements and ounces so you can still follow along. thanks

Can it be made with all purpose flour

— @ArianitXh

Ingredients:-

Lukewarm Milk:- 150 ml/ ⅔ cup/5 oz

I need an explanation of why people even bother with active dry yeast when instant yeast works the same

— @Realitystrikesbkk

Sugar:- 30 gm / Cups: ~1/8 cup/ 1 oz

Active Dry Yeast:- 5 gm / 1.5 teaspoons/ 0.18 oz

Tried but came out with very tough dough. Maybe my scale is off.
Checked my scale and it’s spot on. Something isn’t right with the milk amount because I dough wasn’t sticky at all. About a minute in the dough was stuck to the dough hook and not sticky at all.

— @535banshee

Eggs: 2 medium( 60 gm each)- 120 gm total

Bread Flour:- 400gm/ 3 1/4 cups/ 14 oz

What can be used to substitute the eggs?

— @cyndiannleblanc4640

Salt: 1/2 teaspoon

Soft Unsalted Butter: 40 gm/ 3 tablespoon/ 1.4 oz

Thanks for your detailed explanation
I love your vedio

— @faithIgoh-sq1yr

method:-

Step 1: Activate the Yeast

Yummy thanks

— @elizabethzulu1806

Start by activating the yeast. Use 150 ml of lukewarm milk (just warm to the touch) and half of our sugar—about 15 grams. Stir in 5 grams of active dry yeast and let it sit for 10-15 minutes until it foams. if you don’t see foam, check your milk temperature or yeast freshness.

Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients

What if I don't have bread flour

— @afifawali4233

In a large bowl, combine 400 grams of bread flour with the rest of the sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Bread flour adds that perfect chew to your donuts. A little trick: mix the dry ingredients well, ensuring even flavour throughout.

Step 3: Combine Wet Ingredients

Do we can use vanilla flavored milk

— @fazlykandy8545

Once your yeast is foamy, add in 2 room-temperature eggs, then mix it with the dry ingredients. Room-temp eggs help maintain dough consistency for a pillowy texture.

Step 4: Begin Kneading

Nah bro this is fire but the poor donut at the end

— @elijahproducts

Add the wet mix to your dry ingredients and knead for 4-5 minutes. It’ll be a bit sticky at first—don’t worry! A sticky dough leads to tender donuts. If kneading by hand, avoid adding too much flour; use a light touch instead.

Step 5: Add Butter and Knead

Donas no Donos

— @Celinarecetas61

Gradually add 40 grams of soft, unsalted butter while continuing to knead. Knead for another 15 minutes until the dough is soft and elastic. This extra time is key for developing gluten, giving your donuts that airy, fluffy quality.

Step 6: First Rise

😍

— @africanuno9878

Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about an hour. If your kitchen is cool, pop the bowl in the oven with the light on—no heat. This gentle warmth is perfect for rising.

Step 7: Shaping the Donuts

It really helpful watching and listening to the audio recording. Thank you so much

— @RichardHalil-d3i

After the dough has doubled, punch it down gently and roll it to about 1/2-inch thickness. Use a donut cutter, or improvise with a cup for the donut and a small cutter for the hole. Cutting all at once keeps them tender.

Step 8: Second Rise

🎉🎉 😊 THANKS!!!

— @Dorcasndogo

Place the cut donuts on a lined tray and allow them to rise for an hour until puffy. For the classic look, make a small hole in the middle after the second rise, or leave them as they are. Give them a final 10-minute rest as you heat the oil.

Step 9: Heat the Oil

I had never tried to bake or even cook anything before I tried this for the first time and it turned out to be perfect the best recipe tbh out here 2nd time

— @vermithor18

Heat oil to 150°C-160°C, a bit lower than usual for that pillowy softness. Frying at this temperature keeps them airy, not greasy.

Step 10: Frying

Thanks I love the recipe, will definitely try it

— @kundaingwarai9121

Carefully fry a few donuts at a time for about 2 minutes on each side until golden. Place each donut on a wire rack to drain, keeping them light and airy. For sugar-coated donuts, roll them in sugar while warm. If glazing, wait until they’ve cooled slightly for a smooth, even coating.

please note:-

Hi Sir can I substitute All Purpose flour because if it's for business the bread flour is quite expensive

— @marilyneneriorandomvlog

1-Your donuts may overproof due to too much time, high temperatures, excess yeast, or high humidity. Always proof in a controlled environment, monitor closely, and stop once the dough doubles in size.

2-Hard donuts can result from over kneading, under proofing, low fat or liquid, or overfrying. Use soft dough, proof properly, and fry at 150°C–160°C for the best results.

What you meant Bread Dough?
In USA we use Purpose Flour , ? “Help”

— @MariaHameed-g3y

Quick Tips:

-Keep the milk just warm, not hot, to avoid killing the yeast.

thanks, I wasn't kneading enough and using the wrong flour, this was just what I needed!

— @alextritten3378

-Resist adding extra flour if the dough feels sticky—lightly flour your hands instead.

-Always allow for a second rise; it’s essential for that cloud-like texture.

Can I swap bread flour to plain flour?

I don’t know what I did wrong. I followed everything exactly but my dough never came together. I was well into 30 min running my stand mixer waiting for the result you had. So i steadily would add a table spoon of bread flour, after another 30 min and another 200 grams of bread flour, it was still slacking, so I gave up and threw it away. No good ever comes from over kneading dough and the amount of flour I added, these doughnuts would have been dense and bland. But I’m going to try again using your recipe. I’m not going to give up. I’m still at the beginning stage of dough making. I do know how finally make sandwich bread and sourdough bread. So, I need to learn this. Thank you!

I substituted the bread dough for all purpose flour so is it normal for the dough to be a bit strong? If not what can I do to adjust that

@josuekligue2661

Don't use this recipe! Milk is not enough, and the dough is very dry if using 150 ml. I ended up adding more milk.

I tried this recipe and it completely failed. The dough was far too dry and not sticky or slick like the video depicted. I think the liquid:dry ratio is completely off. 150g milk to 400g bread flour is only a 37.5% baker's percentage, half of what you even find in bread!! I'm sure this was meant to be 300g flour, this recipe just doesn't work with 400.

First time making these. Couple things already. The mix was dry so I added 2 tbsp warm water. It looked better. I should have started with just 3 cups flour instead of 3-1/4. Window pane test fine. 45 min in the oven with a light on and very little rise. Yes, I saw the yeast foam up good before adding eggs. One was room temp but the other was a bit cold. Maybe thats why the slow rise. Hope I didn't kill the yeast. Still waiting for the rise. I'll wait one more hour and if not risen the yeast died with the cool egg. BUMMED so far....
