Among the eccentrics and cult personalities in the stranger-than-fiction world of big cat owners, few stand out more than Joe Exotic, a mulleted, gun-toting polygamist and country western singer who presides over an Oklahoma roadside zoo. Charismatic but misguided, Joe and an unbelievable cast of characters including drug kingpins, conmen, and cult leaders all share a passion for big cats, and the status and attention their dangerous menageries garner. But things take a dark turn when Carole Baskin, an animal activist and owner of a big cat sanctuary, threatens to put them out of business, stoking a rivalry that eventually leads to Joe’s arrest for a murder-for-hire plot, and reveals a twisted tale where the only thing more dangerous than a big cat is its owner.

i saw the unedited original version of Travis' accident, there was no warning, there was audio, the guy tells him not to point at him and he chuckles in his chair and says it won't fire without a clip, holds it to his head, says "see" pulls trigger..... gun goes off, and the politics guy sits there for a moment then shocked, stunned, frozen, then he says something like, is this a joke.... takes a proper look....then says omg

@claymathewselevator8121Just finished watching the first episode on Netflix. I don’t if I can watch anymore. It’s too depressing. America, where it’s all about “my rights, my rights!” without having regard to anyone else’s. Including animals. I’m sure those big cats and other exotics are loved. I love my son and will cry the day he leaves home. But I’m not going to make him stay home for my emotional needs. One day he will want his freedom and independence. I am not really a big advocate for animals in cages. However, I do recognise the value of seeing animals in real life, eg, at zoos so people can see they actually exist and are not some made up thing from another land. And I recognise the breeding programs for endangered species. But these private zoos? I don’t know. The animals in my eyes are being kept for someone’s personal gratification, with no consideration of the animal’s rights. And it’s depressing to see how these people in this program deal with conflict - you shoot them. And if their toys get taken away from them, they threaten shoot themselves.
