Being a new era for the cars and engines its F1 Lotto till we see how competitive they are on track, i like underdogs so i'll say that Alpine will be a huge improver this year, I've high hopes for Williams, really looking to see how Audi goes but i think the front row of the grid at the first race will have at least one Mercedes on it.

Haas is "America's original Formula 1 team"? I believe that would be Scarab at the end of the 1950s. Or Gurney's Eagle a decade later. There was UOP, and some guy named Penske had one. Wasn't there a Scirocco in the early '60s? And there are surely a few I've missed.

are you for real? you are mentioning gazoo racing as this "racing giant" and you start with rally but not with one word you did mention AUDIS endurence race pedigree!
i cant remember but in 15 years of LeMan .. had to be like starting in 2000/1/2/3 and from then on they have won LeMans!!! 13 out of 15 times they raced!

Sometimes before going forward you need to look back. Short stroke 4 cylinder is nothing that anyone has thought about 😞. A well manufactured 5 cylinder big bang hasn’t been thought of either. It seems that engineers have no real thought process anymore 🤦♂️

@samuelchambers4036McLaren are a customer team, but they had some special clause that gave them some sort of additional access during the Mercedes engine development.
@tomastruxa9625Imagine if the Mercedes engine is not competitive. If its compression trick backfires when the engine is too cold or it overheats and then sometimes the whole engine blows up in white smoke like the Renault engines did for at least a whole season if not more. We could end up with a competition between Audi, Honda/Aston-Martin, RedBull/Ford and Ferrari+HAAS+Cadillac. But we should also consider who will have the best electric engine solution, Honda or Mercedes or Audi or Ford or Ferrari ? And then, what about smaller cars without the ground effect !!! Whatever happens at the beginning or during the season to come, it is goind to be quite a "ride" for F1 fans and teams... Old F1 fans know that technology can often steal the show. Whatever happens, we are eager for the next chapters to unfold.
