Apple's siri has been broken for a while, but they promised to fix all that nearly two years ago when they showed off Apple intelligence and a new personalized siri that would finally get smarter... but after a long delay, it looks like Apple is doing something unexpected, partnering up with Google to fix siri.
It will obviously run in models of GemmaâŠ
More User Perspectives
I don't see how this a problem. Yes, it would be using Gemini's codes and all, but in Apple's terms.
It'll focus on privacy, making as much of its use on device as possible. Apple will never have the data upon data to train their models compared to the likes of Google and Facebook. That's why their original release window, two years ago, was a failure. They could not get it ready.
And even if it was, I wouldn't expect it to perform to the same level. Considering it's aimed to be agentic than generative. Basically it's not a big deal. People aren't complaining that different components on an iPhone are made by other companies, and this is no different.
There had a good five years to come up with awesome stuff. Psh
@C1nderfireSteve Jobs wouldâve had. All of this taken care of and he wouldâve come up with better
@C1nderfireGreg, you are an Apple apologist.đ
Itâs about intent.. They intended on having their own model. They also backtracked on Chatbots.. Apple has well deserved L⊠đ The real question is what happens now.
Great video
@BrandonBSquareApple collects just as much data about you as Google does.... Don't be so naive. They use that data for themselves and not for selling it.
@ttrotary7I'm in the same boat as you, if it's going to make the experience better, I'm all for it. Especially since they are maintaining the privacy aspect.
@JTech22My Home still canât recognize my lights are adaptive capable unless I manually set it myself so I have zero hope for Apple Intelligence lol
@OrothianI bought an iPhone 16 Pro Max to use the promised AI for 2024. That went by the wayside. This past September I bought the 17 Pro Max to get more RAM for the AI that was surely going to be ready for 2025. I upped my storage to 512 GB to handle what would be able to handle the storage increase needed. So I spent about $3000.00 over the past two years for broken promises from Apple. When, in reality, I could have just used Google Assistant and Google Gemini, & received mostly the same capabilities that Apple has settled for. I kinda feel that Apple owes a lot of people a phone, or rebates for buying into their BS that they have pedaled over the past two years. I just won't hold my breath. But I might take a hard look at Samsung or Google phones this fall. And I have used iPhones since the 3GS.....
@paganguy77The privacy claims are a bit of a fib in that Apple customers are giving Apple a ton of personal info every day via their Apple account and other ecosystem features. Donât kid yourself, Apple knows a great deal about you because you are volunteering your data.
More interesting is if Apple will detect and use context to automagically turn simple prompts into more complex ones and, if they will use it to prune the reply so it is both more relevant and more concise.
3:26 they donât have BitTorrent. Itâs better than YouTube but tech content creators should publish there too.
@Ded-EdeWhy google getting so excited they already use chat gpt it will be the same thing âŠ. Why are the jumpin for joyâŠ
@thundermane3289Well future is Apple fan boys and girls next time if youâre getting out in the iPhone, you basically get an androidđ
What a downgrade
I am watching this on Google Chrome on my Mac Mini?
@GeordieBoy700After Steve died, Apple went down the drain. Just like when Apple kicked Steve out, then they literally almost went bankrupt until Steve came back. Iâve been an Apple fan since 80âs, but I will never be the âyesâ person like a lot of the influencers are. I will continue to buy Apple (though not like I used to) I will keep speaking out how they plateaued, and I hate that they partnered with Google..it just shows that Apple is drowning again just like they did why they kicked Steve out. Itâs very sad. They donât know how to invent etc Itâs a shit show..itâs a sad time for Apple..the little remark they said âwe donât need Steve to invent etcâ now they need Google đ€Łđ€Łthey are a laughing stock. Iâve loved Google since day one when it debuted as a search engine..and Iâve been an Apple fan since the 80âs. But Apple is a shit show nowadays, and itâs sad
@mattthompson6281i just hope this smarter siri come to older models like the se3
@DamilolaOyeleye-x1eSure I use Google apps like Gmail, YouTube etc. But NOT Google search. ChatGPT is infinitely better
@WillNewcombYou triggered Siri on my iPhone when you said it, twiceđđđ.
@DavidNicholson101I want to fight this notion that Apple not wanting to track users means not having data to train on. I used to think this but if you research how AI models are trained in 2026, itâs less actual deal and more synthetic data that is generated by other AI systems. You donât actually need tons of user data to train AI, you can have a 3rd party model generate synthetic data that you can use to train on. Mark my words that Apple is going to eventually replace Gemini once their own models are up to snuff. This is just a stop gap til 2028.
@TechyA-k9qIf my data goes to google, I'm out.
@LeitefsjSiri was bought from SRI, they didn't invent it ... just modded it. So what's the diff?
@bitterseedsIn all honesty, i want my brain to be the best form of Siri. As long as Apple keeps my phone secure and working properly for many years⊠i am good. I wouldnât mind if Apple found a way to put freeform boards in folders before perfecting siri.
@prettyflyforafilipinoguyeagerly waiting for iOS 27 with Gemini integration đ
@iOSuptodateDonât care about AI make your iPad 240hz yes
@darthstarone3532Google intelligence
@xo.x9fWow, Greg, you really went out of your way to explain and reassure ordinary folks about this situation. Very enlightening and reassuing. Are you sure you are not sponsored by Goopple?
@megapangolin1093Looks like Apple's waiting game backfired.
@brandknewmeWooow, a Youtuber telling people how to run their money.
I have noticed, Youtubers, when they reach a certain level, they lose the connection to their viewers and start believing everyone can buy the latest and greatest tech every single year because they can afford it.
Unsubscribed.
Greetings! I don't like and don't use these childish game AI programs, be they "chatgpt" or whatever, I discovered that there are even more people who consciously don't use these childish game AIs, I really hope that Apple doesn't fix its Siri for a long time! Various data is already collected from people in huge quantities every day, there is no need for more of these various game AI programs to collect data from people. It is clear, of course, that people will not be given this real AI program for decades or more, they will not be given AI before people lose their malice, envy, greed, and evil, because right now most people and humanity are not ready for the arrival of real AI. People are given a chance to play these data-collecting and mindless childish game AI programs, and it is sad and heartbreaking to watch how most people fall into the trap of these fake AI programs.
@KritaKritaKritaI'm so bored with apple gong back to samsung
@arlenesterling6782a trillion dollar company running to google. i don't understand that.
@tuworlds2:35 you said Siri is bad experience, but Apple management team disagree your point of view đ because Apple is different, could not compare to others directly đ
@raysoI switched to Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and I'm now very happy with that ! I won't go back to Apple.
@AiKiu_MetaverseVideo starts at 8:55
@funhaosAnyone that thought Apple could actually make Siri smart was just fooling themselves.. Like apple actually developing something without buying the program and talent behind it..
@jb_swampItâs so annoying that every time he says Siri loudly, the video stops and then Siri turns on. đ
@Leeroy-x4dApple made the correct decision. They confirmed that Gemini is running through Private Cloud Compute. I donât really care about the Foundation model beyond it managing what I need . The key is to implement AI in clever ways that address common problems for the masses
@hmurchison8123Who cares apple and google have always worked together
@aaronallsbury9238I donât care who is collaborating with Apple to make a better Siri.
@rickatkinson1000Apple lies to its customers while charging top dollar for it . in return people reward the company that scammed them with giving them their money to do it again lol.
@MartyHarrison-cx4guWhy donât you say that Apple should get sued for false advertisement? I think thatâs the real outreach forget about if they works or not at this point Apple keeps lying to us and people like you just take it.
@islandtiercheckMy take on this is that apple is bedding the different AI systems to explore how they work to gain knowledge and for them to build their own system, by cherry picking the features and algorithms that work well with the apple ecosystem system⊠I donât see that the Apple Gemini relationship will be locked in but a stepping stone in apples development of their own system.
To note we are currently in an AI bubble which will burst and its who survives the bubble that will be on top.
Yeah, who cares? Itâs going to make Siri better and run on Appleâs private cloud compute servers. This is pretty much our only choice right now to get a smarter Siri. Google makes good ai.
@sunmoon-q3rI recently bought an iPhone 15 refurbished. I apparently needed a pro to get Apple Intelligence. Well fuck off , I love my 15 iPhone and I hate everything about Google. Also the creator studio subscription... We should own apps and not be inslaved by it! They should fire Tim Cook! Steve is not resting in peace right now!!!!
@laurentroose2429I can already download Google Gemini from the Apple store for free
@dadude-rs7ubThis is bullshit Apple already said you can pick your own personal ai doesnât mean Gemini will be the default. Also ai itself is a lie and not real so Apple wouldnât ever have it anyway.
@cesramm1120I love how people think all Apple users are just desperate for more AI features đ
@SloppyJoeNYApple could build their own LLM with enough perimeters since they donât collect customer data. Now itâs going to be Gemini with an apple integrated interface that still will run on apple servers. So Iâm guessing customer data will still be safe. It will just run of google customer data.
