Tony Sanders was found guilty by a jury in 2023 for the vicious murder of Gaylee Valente-Curcio on November 5, 2021 and sentenced to LWOP. Gaylee obtained a protective order against Sanders on October 18, 2021 due to an attack on Gaylee that hospitalized her on Oct 15. After the protective order she received multiple threatening text messages that she reported but police did not respond. After Sanders found out her new address on November 3, 2021, Sanders cut the power lines to her home and smashed all her car windows. Police failed to arrest him. Sanders attacked and killed her 2 days later. She pleaded to police many times that she was afraid for her safety. She did what she thought would help protect her. A lawsuit by Gaylee's family against Tacoma PD is still before the courts. R.I.P. Gaylee Valente-Curcio.
