The catch is, the tax office is trying to back date the taxes to 2006 but they only made the decision to tax winnings in the past few years, so thats a serious back date. Pretty unfair on all the previous winners. As if theyd of saved a percent of their winnings all these years to pay taxes they didnt legally owe until recently. Sounds like the gov is just jealous of their winnings and trying to cash in.
