Rule at my house...after a lot of frustration, all food is for eating if it doesn't have a note on it. We all generally still ask if something seems out of the norm, but if there's not a label...you don't get to be mad if it's eaten. There are 5 of us with wildly different schedules, but we still try to have a "made dinner" so losing out on ingredients is frustrating and this makes it so much easier to manage than trying to track down who bought what and if it was okay to eat. (2 parents, 2 kids in their 20s and a 16 year old kid)

40:05, 40:55, and 41:19 - this whole convo’s a little weird to me. Seeing women as like paintings or vases is weirdly objectifying. Yeah you see women that way because the patriarchy raises specifically boys to see women that way. I mean to be fair, I’m bi and I have always found women more aesthetically beautiful. Some of that may come from things ingrained in my thought process because of the patriarchy, but women do also often present in a more artful way I guess? Like having makeup and hair done and having pretty outfits (obviously not all the time or for all women). Men can do those things too but it’s more common/encouraged for women, and women have many more clothing options and are encouraged to dress in like pretty floral patterns or with more colour as opposed to the way men are encouraged to dress - and discouraged from dressing. I would also definitely see taking nude pictures as a very vulnerable thing for a woman as well. It’s more common for women’s nudity to be over-sexualized though. This is in large part because men are oftentimes being raised to feel more of a right towards women’s bodies, and it’s more profitable for women to go into sex work or nude modelling in turn. Also, quite honestly women having “more genitals” - like boobs are considered a private part even though men get to have their nipples out if they want. Women are usually desensitized to it. Also have you never heard the term washboard abs? Playgirl is a thing y’all. And have you ever read a smut fanfic description written by a woman about a male character? Or seen some NSFW fanart that women make? Women who are sexually attracted to men also like men’s bodies. And of course no, men are not inherently “more visual” - they are more encouraged to over-sexualize women, and to specifically want to sexualize the image of them naked. It’s seen as like ‘a right of passage’ almost for men to see women’s boobs, whereas for women, it’s not that big a deal to see boobs, and they often get to see the dissonance between what men think of their bodies and how mundane their own bodies can be to them in comparison (that’s going much more based off personal experience though, I’ll get back on track). Anyways I’m sure the guys in this video didn’t mean/think all of those things and I think you’re all good people - but it’s important for men to understand how patriarchy has effected their view of the world and not feed into it like this.
