Am I weird for wanting my resident services to be perfectly inline with my airport and not care about how far away it is? I restarted a bunch trying to get one with a green airport (x2 as 2 switches) and 1 with roses as a native flower? Both islands have Ivy in the name cause I LOVE green so green is my main theme anyways lol

Island Setup (Start of Game)
Choose a map where Resident Services is far from the airport
Buy a swimsuit from Timmy early to access more areas
Place all villager homes on beaches (helps plan your island later)

Shopping & Items
Buy everything you see at Nook’s Cranny (catalog = you can reorder later)
Buy all food items (useful for terraforming later)
Get durable tools as soon as possible

Resources & Grinding
Use Nook Miles Tickets
On mystery islands: take ALL resources (strip mine everything)
Use the rock-hitting trick to maximize materials
Shake trees (for bells, furniture, wasps)

Making Bells
Sell items regularly (fish, bugs, etc.)
Turnips strategy:
Buy from Daisy Mae every Sunday morning
Sell at Nook’s Cranny for profit before they rot (1 week)
Save bugs & fish to sell to Flick/CJ (they pay more)
Dig glowing spot daily → bury 10k bells for money trees

Collect Nook Miles constantly
Shake trees daily

Don’t worry about getting stung (you earn Nook Miles)
Focus on catching new bugs/fish → donate to museum immediately if new

a tip i have (mainly just for me but yeah) DONT OVERUSE TREASURE ISLANDS!!! grinding is a very tedious process but it makes you not get bored too easily! like for me i overused treasure islands and just upgraded my house immediately, upgraded the museum immediately, ect, and that just made me get tired

My island was reset because my Nintendo Switch broke and the repairs erased my data. I’m glad it kinda forced me to restart my island because i’ve been contemplating it for a while, but I also lost my favorite villager, Sherb 😭. (and I got him in less than five tickets too he was my second villager hunt ever)

I lost my island because my brothers broke my switch 😑 I still have my game cartridge so I’m gonna restart on a switch lite. I’m glad I get to restart because I wasn’t vibing with my island name anymore. But I’m forever hurt because I was lucky enough to get Julian and he was my favourite villager 😭

My tip: When you’re villager hunting, check every island quickly for recipe bottles! The majority of them do, and it’s an amazing way to get a bunch of DIYs all at once. Multitasking!!

Is it just me or do you guys just never get the recipes for any tools Am I just unlucky??? I buy the DIY for beginners thing and I never get tools I get random things like a stone stool... how do people progress in this game I just wanna make a cute island but I keep giving up because I'm getting no tools I really want to like this game it's so cute

@ThatBookChikkaTurnip prices change twice per day-- you have your island's morning price, and then the price after 12pm (aka noon). If you don't like your price in the morning, come back later in the day to see if it's more favorable. :)
