It takes a good liar to easily spot a poor liar; It takes a good corrupt person to easily spot a bad corrupt person. It takes a good thief to easily spot another not so good thief. You have to be at the top of your profession to easily spot others trying to climb your ladder, and the sh!t on them as they make their way up.

In the 80's I got kicked out of Lake Tahoe's High Sierra Casino for card counting. I won 7-8 times. It paid for my ski vacations. I never knew it was against the law. Back then it was a single deck & Sierra dealt to the bottom, roughly 3 hands per shuffle. I always played 3rd base so I could see what's been played. Small basic bet on the first hand and progressively load up 2nd & 3rd hand after I saw what was dealt. Three suits surrounded me after they stopped the dealer. I was dumbfounded as they escorted me out.

9:56 Even now facial recognition is a service that charges casinos and we all know that casinos want money coming in not going out. With AI and facial recognition and more and more companies competing for casinos business the subscription price charged to casinos will go down even at the AI and tech gets better. 😮😢

I used to play black jack at the casino back in the 90s but just lost interest and haven't played since. Anyway, back then I was playing at a table with a couple of my friends and it was my first time. We'd played for a while and I won just a hand or two and one of my friends was watching me play. He gave me some advice and said if the dealer has a 2 through 6 showing, don't take any more cards once you reach 12 because he has to draw if he's 16 or less. I thought well that makes perfect sense and it was something I didn't consider. Well I followed his advice and I won $25 or so that night. I thought this is easy! I've got it figured out. The next couple of times I was there I did the same thing and lost money.... my heart wasn't in it after that.

We weren't counting cards but the strategy made sense and over the long run would maybe keep a player in the black. Another friend said when he plays he never takes a card if he has 12 or more and said "I'm about even", like all the black jack players say lol.

For those simpletons like me who don't play cards but just dipped into this video to learn, what the heck is a Backoff?? Without knowing that simple thing the rest makes little sense. Just a thought.

Even as a good counter you still have massive losing streaks ... at best ot confers a 1.5% advantage over the house under perfect conditions but no human can maintain that level f play and eventually craps out and dumps the winnings back to the house

Its a dumb strategy and the casinos (former owner!) love it that you fools thinks it is some magic bullet to beating a casino

If it worked as well as the myth implies, you would not be doing Youtube videos to make money or coaching it (that is where the actual money is)

You even hint at it, that the dealers allow it ... because it gets you to play more ..... the house always wins on THE VIG

I spent years counting down cardcounters, its a hard way to make a living, i would not recommend it. If you go in hard on a good count, its one hand, the dealer can hit a biggie too

All the casinos would go broke if they relied on me to patronize them. Same with lotteries... in my view, there's no straight games out there.

OR...more likely.....a good pit boss has been trained to count cards and do basic strategy and will simply watch your bet amounts and can tell if you're counting. Stop with all the paranoia stuff.

What does a casino offer? The pregnant pause during which you might realize some unearned gain. This service costs you money. You're not supposed to get ahead, that's only allowed as much to keep the dream alive. It's like what does an insurance company offer? Peace of mind. "I'm insured. I'll sleep good tonight." The payoff is iffy but you did have "peace of mind," that's what they sell.

I was hoping to learn how card counting works. Still don’t know!

@Southwind141

I used to play the Native American casinos and Gulf Coast casinos a lot. I counted but there were better advantage plays pretty often. I always found inexperienced day shift dealers and sit a third base. They would flash their hole cards 1 in 10 times. All I needed to win.

@scottwheeler2494

Complete Bs that you can’t count cards using legit brain power. Esp when then can take money from people that play drunk and they take their money

Casinos are cool with winners.
Casinos are not cool with GREEDY winners.
That is why so-called card counters get caught.

I don't understand. Isn't keeping track of what cards are out a type of strategy? How can it be considered cheating if you're simply thinking?

Casino Karens? I don't understand why other players would care if you're counting. I feel like it's not my business. If I see you winning, I might keep an eye on you to see if I could learn anything from you. But I certainly wouldn't rat you out.

@douglassun8456

If you're counting cards and the casino is letting you (they know, trust me) it's because you're not going to win. Your count is off. Or, very common, you've flipped neg and pos in your head and losing money like crazy.

@markw999

Just don't be greedy, and travel around. If you show up in a particular casino no more than four times in a year and leave up $500 to $1,000 on a weekend, nobody will ever notice, and if you can add $2-$3,000 a month to your income, that can be nice, especially you are retired, for example.
