Wow didn't know that much butter there 😮
@meekim5361I think I know where I did a mistakes or two. Will try again.
@dominiquekolp1203Just finished doing it, it proving for the last time, but my dough is so sticky, unable to divide the dough, I hope it rises in the loaf mold prior to cooking, if not, again, not good. And I followed the recipe, maybe next time not to use the mixer. just finished to cooking, it didn't rise much, taste good, but more like a cake than a brioche
@dominiquekolp1203I have eaten real brioche, I will do it tomorrow, if it is as good as expected with my daughter, it will not last long.
@dominiquekolp1203do you use full far milk, I have only skim milk
@dominiquekolp1203Great as French toast too!!! And used for Japanese Sando!

@muzicgr8Please don't say I need butter again T_T phew ok it's not that much I still have a bit 5:37 wait nvm you got out another stick of butter 😭
@StabfishFunI have only been baking about a year and a half. What a God send that I found John. His videos and recipes are so easy to follow, thorough and tried and true. I have made this brioche recipe several times and it is OUT OF THIS WORLD. A little high maintenance to make (easy but requires lots of attention, kind of like a toddler LOL), but it is SUPERB. Thank you John and all your staff for making baking such a joy! Now if I could master the braiding, I would consider myself an "intermediate" baker {:
@connie2560made this bread and it did turn out great except a tip to those making it, make sure your cups of flour aren't too packed. you can just scoop the flour into the cup with a spoon or something. i used too much unintentionally by the cups being too packed. if you also made this mistake, added like 2 1/2 teaspoons of milk in increments mostly based on vibs and had to add the butter before my dough got to the state shown at 4:20. the butter really makes it come together so if you have to add milk make sure it's not too liberal, mine ultimately turned out well even if it was probably a bit more biscuity than intended but overall the recipe is great, would recommend!
@chloee3105John, I have made your brioche, your short bread, your lime pie and everything went superb, your recipes and videos are spot on. Thank you ❤️
@radkadarvill8420120 degrees for blooming yeast is pushing it
I typically stay around 104f/40c. The higher temperature doesn't do anything other than accelerate the yeast, so it may be a couple more minutes. Trust your nose.
I'll do a rise, punch it down and rise again in the fridge overnight
Then do the pan rise. So he does 2 and I do 3. Lastly never put the salt in until you add the butter. You'll be glad. The salt will mess with the texture when added at the beginning. Try it both ways if you don't notice the difference then do whatever works.
Can it be made with almond flour so it's more keto/carb friendly? Speaking of, please do a keto friendly cookbook for my next birthday!!!
@RaRaRahbinNo refrigeration?
@11lisamarie1I love your explanations & commentary! Reminds me of old school Alton Brown! 😊😊❤❤
@mirfirCan you substitute the butter for any oils ?
@GetoveritbI just made a new batch of bread and it kind of turned out like yours. I add rolled oats to my bread dough and a little vanilla extract.

@DebbieAnderson-r3tHalfway through, I was tempted to double the playback speed, not from being bored, but because you were talking up the finished brioche and I was all ears, excited even.
@PeterLawtonYour blog recipe doesn’t include butter in the ingredients list.
@gnomealone350Please puhlease do the 30 day friendship cake
@lanibearmcevoy6882I tried to make it and it turned out great and DELICIOUS!!! I wasn't very confident because the dough didn't seem to have the same texture as yours. But it worked!!!!!!
@rocioalonso8234What is the flour you use? I'm from India, where different types of bread / cake flour are readily available. Will all purpose flour work or should I get special bread flour?
@vijayvmailI made this to go with my strawberry jam, it turned out really good! Thanks for the recipe!
@bookkrwormThanks John, I had make this bread Friday night and it was finish by Saturday night, It was really good my husband loved it...
@DP-to6ntThis is one of the coolest bread recipes I've ever seen! I have a question though John. If instant yeast doesn't rise as well, then why do you use it in other recipes?
@nathannelson6843if I use food processor instead of stand mixer should I readjust or consider about any step of this recipe?
