As an albanian guy who learned in school Macedonian, French, English, Turkish, Serbo-Croatian, Arabic and later in life German my brain developed so many characters and gesticulations depending on the languange i speak its so fascinating, i cannot even explain.
Even today that im doing Neurology as specialty cannot explain the benefits and the problems i face in trying to explain myself to my patients in all these languages.😅.
But one thing is for sure, learning other languages for sure changes us, makes us more flexible and helps our brain grow.

As a south indian I can speak telugu, English & Hindi.

I grew up learning russian, Bulgarian and German and at the age of 5 or 6 my brain couldn't separate the languages anymore and I started speaking all 3 languages simultaneously.

Had to visit a logopedist for a year to split them again and be able to go to primary school in Germany.

I'm from Azerbaijan and I know Azerbaijani, Turkish, English, Korean (still improving) and a little of Russian (I know the alphabet I can read and write I also know words and expressions but I'm not fluent). Anyways the hardest part is I hear those languages all the time because I don't watch contents in my first language but after watching videos on social media for hours I struggle to speak in my own language with my family. And the worst thing is my parents don't know english or korean and whenever I forget any word in Azerbaijani I can't tell them in those languages and that hurts:(

I started to study Spanish from last year, and found it similar to English, and this really inspired me a lot, I would like to be a proficient Spanish speaker! And I tried to learn Arabic as my second language before, the vocab is the most hardest thing for me, tooooo difficult to nun-native speaker to memory the vocab! And this make the Chinese learners more incredible!!! How difficult for them to memory Hieroglyph lol

It's fun to listen to my friend mixing words from different languages when they can't recall a specific word in languages they communicate with. They grew up on two languages which seem similar but are different, then they had to learn two more languages in school and one more language for friends, the other two languages they understand but don't speak, were learnt through observation and instead of knowing the word directly, they can describe what word they're trying to use

Polyglots have it easy.

As a native Chinese who now learns in Australia, earns German by self and French at school, this is awesome :D

Bilingual people are common nowadays, and it's not surprising at all.

Being bilingual it's scary sometimes, I am getting to forget words and expressions in my own mothertongue portuguese, since I also speak english, spanish and french 😢😢😢

1. the right brain is about emotion and imagination
2. it may take more energy when people transit from one language to another.
3. bilingual may not make you smarter, but it may make your brain more healthy complex and actively engaged.

According to Americans, the universal language is just English but loud and slow.
