In this video, I’m going to show you 10 bodyweight exercises that build the MOST muscle so you can start building muscle with bodyweight training whether you’re working out at home, at the gym, or anywhere you don’t have access to weights.

The biggest mistake people make with bodyweight workouts is relying on easy or repetitive movements that stop being challenging once you get stronger. When an exercise no longer creates enough tension, it stops stimulating new muscle growth. If your goal is how to build muscle without weights, the key is choosing bodyweight exercises that increase the demand on your muscles through better leverage, greater range of motion, and more time under tension.

Hey Ax I’m doing your program torch but my jobs keep me on my feet most of the day which is about 8 hours with just 30 minutes break what is the best cardio for me? I can’t swim unfortunately

— @elizabethagard5988

That’s exactly what these muscle building bodyweight exercises do.

Instead of relying on basic pushups or squats alone, the exercises in this video challenge your muscles in ways that make bodyweight training effective for building muscle. By increasing range of motion, altering leverage, or emphasizing control, these movements allow you to get far more out of a bodyweight workout.

Is that a prison in the background ?

— @19LondBuch72

These exercises target all of the major muscle groups including the chest, back, shoulders, arms, legs, glutes, hamstrings, and core. Hanging Leg Raises

Pullups

Your videos on bodyweight exercises are literally transforming my body, thank you!

— @Mer-Man-WI

Each of these bodyweight exercises for building muscle challenges your muscles in ways that traditional bodyweight movements often do not. Some increase the range of motion to create more muscle tension, while others place your body in positions that force greater stability and control.

When you combine exercises like these, bodyweight training becomes a powerful way to build muscle and strength without needing a full gym setup. This is why movements like pullups, chin ups, dips, and single leg exercises have always been staples in athletic training and strength programs.

Great set of tips, and thank you for your time over the last 8 years or so❀ I hope you continue to enjoy your work enough to be around here and healthy for as long as possible! Have a good weekend everyone!

— @AcrioAlarius

I am almost 61 and I’ve been doing Jeff’s workouts since 2019. Great guy!

— @luizmarquesjr4350

It works and is great. The nuance? Only for beginners. Difficult to add progressive overload on sheer bodyweight alone. When I started training after 10 years, I thought Id stick to free exercises only. The result? 55-60 squats per set. 25 pushups. It soon gets impractical and unnecessarily time consuming.

I can only move flex my hands about 20 degrees one way and 25 degrees the other way. I don’t only have bone on bone. I have bones separating in the wrist. Sucks to get old.

Strong list. But remember this: muscle is not built by the exercise itself, it’s built by intensity and control. You can do 100 easy pushups and gain nothing, or 10 slow deficit pushups with full range and your chest will feel it. Bodyweight training is like martial arts. The movement is simple, mastery is hard. Pullups, dips and handstand pushups done with control and close to failure will build real strength.
