His angles of attack are limited and he lacks leverage when Vader bears down on him. Looks cool, but it certainly cost him any chance of winning the fight.

The animated series always seem to do a FAR better job of capturing that classic Star Wars flow, that vibe. What was birthed in The Empire Strikes Back was absent from everything but the Rogue One Vader hallway scene. All the rest of Disney's live action Star Wars films were completely devoid of what is seen (and felt) in Vader's appearance in this animated series.Maybe Disney should switch the teams around.

That moment, when Vader steps out of the fog and ignites his saber out of frame, the red illuminating the silhouette, it looks horrifyingly real, like instead of CGI it's a live-action Darth Vader

I do hope that Maul gets a chance to fight Vader on a more even footing. I don't imagine it'll go better for him (even canon aside), but would be a good fight.

Anyone who wants to know why Vader fights aggressive is because he wants Jedi to fight on their terms but to gradually be weakened by Vader's unrelenting pursuit and outnumbering with the Inquisitors

He knows enough to retreat when the environment is just too hard to navigate by Force alone, he easily finds a path most efficient to get to his main objective, and when Maul doesn't even sense when Vader bursts through the wall, he has learned a lot from Sidious when hiding his Dark Side presence, he masks it and obviously holds his breath until striking distance and then puts the momentum on himself to push and always fight aggressively defensive by throwing one away so he can temporarily go 1v1 and wear down one victim to another

This is the brutalist Vader, the one Obi-Wan told to Luke, the mechanical efficiency and malice, and unmerciful ways to kill Jedi altogether in his mind to stop them being a threat to him and the Emperor

So Devon's gonna become Darth talon isn't she ?

The best part is that you realize as soon as he takes even a glancing hit that Vader wasn't really trying that entire time. He locks in after that and suddenly there's no fight anymore.

I love how when Devon gets knocked down by Darth Vader on the ground, instead of cowering or screaming in fear, she just screams at him with hate ( 9:15 )

Finally a show that showcases how skilled and strong Vader is. As much as I love Vader ending fights immediately and aura farming, there should be more of him taking on multiple opponents. It shows he can be fast and react when he needs to despite his suit holding him back.

I like the detail that Maul doesn't fall for Vader leaving his back supposedly open more than once, even though it's what gets the jedi killed.

Maybe Maul will informally adopt Devon as his surrogate daughter, as a way to replace his lost brother and mother. He clearly misses having someone care about him on that level, and she does think of him as a father figure (according to Devon's voice actress).
