In this week's video, we will show you the general rules that are common to all companion planting combinations, so that you can apply them to take the vegetables, herbs, flowers and other plants you grow to make the combinations that work for you, simply by knowing one or two details of each of the plants you grow.
COMPANION PLANTING is basically a simplified version of how BIODIVERSITY works in NATURE! Different plants with their different properties helping each other out! An ECOSYSTEM with a great deal of NATIVE BIODIVERSITY is a BALANCED ecosystem and a HEALTHY one. We strive to imitate how NATURE and BIODIVERSITY work as much as possible so that the food we grow is as HEALTHY and ABUNDANT as can be!

Knowing just a few things about each of your plants will allow you to be able to MAKE YOUR OWN COMPANION PLANTING COMBINATIONS. Some plants grow slowly, others quickly, some stay small, others get really big, some need full sun while others need shade during part of their growth. We will show you the practical ways of combining plants based on their growth patterns, based on the type of plant they are (aromatic, sweet, spicy, etc.), their needs for some shade or full sun, and so on. We will show you how you can TIME your plantings of different combinations of plants to MAXIMIZE their POTENTIAL to help each other out. We will also show you how to care for your PERENNIAL COMPANION plants so they too can help in the best way possible their other companion plants!

i was wondering if i miss out some video of you .
As a friend of mine who is not living that far away from your place asked me on plants and herbs that when rubbed with repell insects ticks mosquitoes and so on .
Im pretty sure i recall you had a decent part of some video talking about it and if i remember right you even got stung and threated it with Plantain and jewlweed or something ? Wanted to show it to my friend but i cant find it somehow .
May be some interesting topic for a hole video maybe as its something that matters to all gardeners and nature enjoyers all the time ^^

@jencysuresh2401I read in a herb book that horsetail tea beats fungal infection in plants. Also, I had a problem with woolly whitefly on my citrus tree. Tried different herbs, and found that Rue got rid of the pest completely. The tree is still small, so I just put a potted rue plant sit against the leaves and stem. Worked well. I will be growing the two together going forward.

@charismawithchristineNext time you trim potatoes, you can root the potato stems. I saw that on a video and tried it. They did root. Unfortunately, I was called away from home and the pots I had them rooting in didn't get watered. I wanted to see if they would have enough time to make at least some small potatoes. We usually only grow our big patch of potatoes in the spring but I've been experimenting with different types and in buckets and bags in the shade during our hot summers, etc.
I'm hoping to be able to get potatoes most of the year. If I can start an experiment and get to stay home to see it through, I might be able to figure it out 😂
I'm glad to see that about cabbage and beets. I love both but don't have much luck with beets. I saw that they prefer slightly less acidic soil than other plants. We have acid soil here.
I planted borage for the first time this year in a raised bed with beans, potatoes and garlic. Oh, and a broccoli on each end. We'll see how it goes 😂 I also set pots in my raised beds. It helps to keep moisture in the soil and saves some mulch. Potato can still make under the pot while something else has its own space in the pot. I'll see how it works with these raised beds. They are new this year.

Will plant it with potatoes, which seem to be the easiest thing to grow in an area with animals and bugs.

@atranimecsI count my plants in my tiny garden in the city. What do I grow to repel moles?? I tried onions circling my 8 squash sprouts this year. I try marigolds and mint to discourage the deer who walk diwn the road only 20 feet from the garden.

@rogerkenworthy6380I just planted my third corn bed and I always germinate my seeds before I put them in the soil, so I'm less likely to have an empty plot, but for some reason one of the corn plants is pushing another entire corn plant.

@junkinjodiI have noticed that cucumber beetles usually attack weak, stressed plants. For example, if my cucumber plants don't get enough sunlight or enough nutrients (poor soil), they often succumb to bacterial wilt that's transmitted by cucumber beetles while plants that are not stressed are unaffected.
