Ronaldo said, "I can play everywhere and score in different leagues." But if he can dominate everywhere, why doesn't he have a World Cup trophy, even with strong teammates in Portugal? Portugal even won the Euro 2016 final without him after he went off injured early in the match.
Ronaldo says he dominated the Premier League, La Liga, and Serie A. But if he truly dominated everything, why couldn't he dominate the World Cup?
In my opinion, scoring the most goals does not automatically make someone the best player. We should look at overall performance as well. Who has won the most Man of the Match awards in the UEFA Champions League? The answer is Messi. Who has won 8 Ballon d'Or awards? Messi. Who has won 6 European Golden Boots? Messi.
Ronaldo played in different leagues, but he never surpassed many of Messi's records. That's why I believe Messi is the greater all-around player.

A great player should be judged by his overall performance, including assists, playmaking ability, influence on matches, Man of the Match awards, and performances in major competitions such as the UEFA Champions League, the FIFA World Cup, and other important tournaments. If Cristiano Ronaldo is truly a great footballer why doesn't he play in weak club and win trophies from zero but Messi did it , Messi plays in a weak club inter miami and wins trophy from zero. What about Cristiano when he was 37 years old ... Did he win world cup ?
