To explain the principle of this mosquito-repelling ultrasound, the mosquitoes that bite people are female, and they need a lot of nutrients during the egg-laying season, so they supplement them by sucking the blood of people and animals. However, once female mosquitoes have fertilized a male mosquito, they no longer want the male mosquito and try to avoid them. This ultrasound is similar to the sound made by an actual male mosquito.
