Read the original article here:

Fucking hell. Chills and tears, that's all I can say. 7179 is also one of my most favorite articles for various reasons, and I feel like you depicted what I imagined to be the moments he spent in 7179 in such a beautifully tragic and horrifying way. I always imagine how you could depict certain SCPs in different medias, and your interpretation, display and artistic skills really made this horrifying SCP come to life in such a perfect way. If I was Calibold, I would be so proud to see the article being depicted in such a perfect way. Well fucking done, chills and tears.

Everytime I come back to watch, I bawl out crying at the fact I would want to be immortal and young. I'm scared of death when leaning to old age, I still want more time to complete everything on my list. I'll loose everyone I've familiarized with. I can gain more friends and pets over time, but it'll hurt loosing each in a loop. I hate how I'm afraid of dying, even alone

Man looking back at this scp it truly implanted something in me that Fears the Concept of Eternity but i think it touches on my fear of Uncertainty the most since it gave that "Absolute fate" of every soul that it got to me when its just a scary idea of a Story and not truth since its just a writing story! but this thing touches on something I never thought i be having roling existential crisies every time i think of Eternity now. But I say im glad its just a idea Not truth. Hell the SCP verse is full of many realites that this isnt truth either but one possibility in its contained world.

I wonder how technologically advanced he could get. could he make some sort of rocket to go to the sun or smth? with enough time he should become space fairing if there is anything in space.

An artistically awesome animation that manages to be horrifying, tragic, and beautiful all in one. With wonderfully picked and fitting music to boot.

I’ve become a big fan of SCP very recently. I’ve watched some videos and read some articles in the past, but it’s only now that I’ve started to really dive into it. When I came around to Scp 7179, I don’t think I have ever read something so existentially horrifying before.

It managed to strike a specific fear that had been at the back of my mind and occasionally pops into my head every now and then: what comes after death? A question that no matter the answer, always scares me and makes my head hurt. Whether it be a black void of nothingness or an infinite and never ending ā€œparadiseā€ where eventually my mind crumbles from sheer boredom due to living a life that never ends.

This scp resonated with me in that I clearly wasn’t the only one who thinks living an eternal life could easily turn to a living hell. The way the gaps in time kept getting more incomprehensibly bigger, the way that Hiddleston just completely ceased movement at the end, the complete isolation, the fact that the file outright states everyone will go to scp 7179 after death no matter what, the ā€œ1 second of eternity has passedā€ line. It’s all so spine chilling. Easily one of my favorite scps. I could see a whole novel or movie being made around the concept. It’s just that good.

I do fear what comes after death, truly. I wish there was a clear answer to what happens to us after we die. And if an afterlife does exist, I hope it’s not anything like this. Nonetheless, despite the horror this scp and video made me feel, it does also make me all the more grateful of my current life. Guess I just have to keep pushing forward and live to the fullest. No point in constantly fearing the unknown.

Thank you for creating this banger of an art piece! I’ve viewed your other work and you clearly have amazing talent that deserves more recognition. Keep up the grind

Even though this isn’t the best afterlife, it’s way better than most. I’d rather go crazy on a beach with beautiful sex partners and drooogs than to feel myself rot and despair forever. Honestly I hope the afterlife lets us see the universe in is entirety. See the beginnings of mankind. See proton decay (maybe)

THIS IS TERRIFYING

A detail that this SCP doesn't really touch on is how memory would play a role in one's eternity. It's been proven that our brains naturally hold the capacity to perfectly remembering everything they encounter, and that we evolved to forget things specifically as a failsafe against insanity.

Realistically, we'd never grow tired of stimuli because there'd be too much of it to remember. For example, go dig up something you wrote 10 years ago and see if any of it rings a bell. By creating and forgetting, a couple thousand stories, puzzles, games, etc. for yourself, you could potentially create an infinite loop of creation and consumption, with which to while away eternity.

@PotatoPatatoVonSpudsworth
@

It's mentioned that Hiddleston grew tired of the women because they lacked agency. This makes me wonder if you could train them to mimic/simulate autonomy.

There's a good chance it would be the equivalent of trying to code a sentient AI by hand, but time is no problem, right? If they can't act without instruction BUT will perfectly fulfill said instructions, then you COULD theoretically present them with a spreadsheet of directives so complicated, it translates into sapience. Trying to effectively manifest free will within these puppets would probably be a fantastic way to spend your time.

@PotatoPatatoVonSpudsworth
@

When I consider the concept of eternity, I can't help but think enlightenment would be not just the solution, but the inevitable outcome. After trying everything, you would inevitably train yourself to live so completely in the moment that any and all stimulation never grows dull.

Alternatively, you could achieve an internal form of ego-death via perfect dissociation (as seen in this video) or escape into your own reality via a combination of hallucination and split personality. The mind is capable of simulating entire worlds, after all. Given enough time, you could forget where/who you are.

@PotatoPatatoVonSpudsworth
@

This is why I consider reincarnation the only "good" form of life after death.

@PotatoPatatoVonSpudsworth

Dude how did this only get 1k views. This is literally the best scp animation I have ever seen in my life. Would you ever be down for a collab?
