'Revenge strike' as Ukraine hits major Moscow oil refinery | Russia-Ukraine latest war news

Video Overview & Insights

Is a breakthrough imminent?

Thumbs down for playing the orange buffoon. Just report what the idiot says

— @BrendanKelly-e5h

Today, as Donald Trump tells the G7 summit that “Russia should make a deal”, we examine what this apparent shift in tone from the US president could mean for Ukraine, and what President Volodymyr Zelensky can realistically hope to achieve from this crucial gathering – perhaps even a face-to-face meeting with Vladimir Putin. We also ask how Ukrainian drones continue to penetrate Moscow’s formidable air defences, after another strike reportedly hit a Russian oil refinery and disrupted operations at airports across the capital. We report on allegations that a Russian diplomat was involved in an arson attack targeting the home of Britain’s Prime Minister, and later speak to the independent journalist leading an investigation into an Irish manufacturing plant accused of supplying components that may be helping to sustain Putin’s war machine.

Welp, I'd rather stand with Ukraine "for as long as it takes" than do what Trump has done and not stand with them at all. As an American, I want us to send our military to liberate Crimea. Nor that there's any appetite for such an operation.

According to this 🤡, they’re Ukrainian drones, right? 🤔 Since the war began, they’ve received hundreds of billions of dollars in aid, they’re getting weapons from 35 countries, they have the backing of NATO, the CIA and MI6 for all things intelligence-related, they’re using the Starlink system, and now all the drones are made in Europe. And despite all that, there are still 🤡 claiming that this is a war between Ukraine and Russia.

There is a worldwide shortage of effective missile defense systems now , exacerbated by the useless war in Iran, Zelenskyy’s idea to produce more Patriots in Ukraine would be helpful to the US & their allies as well.

The Russian mindset is baffling. Their goal seems to be to destabilize civilization at any cost, even to the point of their own demise.
The Muslim goal (supported by many governments) is clear: to eliminate Christian values by any means, including murder and terror.
Which enemy is the greater danger?

30m 05s "RusAl"? Russian owned? The clue's in the name isn't it?

Edit: I think I'd like to hear more about these threats he's had, and also does he have more than circumstantial evidence of corruption?

Full disc., I'm British but have (British-born) relatives who moved there in the 70s. One dabbled a bit in local politics, got elected to the town council, but chucked it in disgust because it was all corruption, jobs for the boys, brown envelopes etc.

22m 35s no, a "useful idiot" was / is something different; someone in a position of authority in a western democracy, eg senior in a trade union, a journalist, influential academic, politicians, etc, who supported the USSR not because they were secret agents knowingly working for Russia, but just because they were idiots. I think Stalin coined the phrase didn't he?

I was extremely happy to see Caolan ceasing to make videos for far right-wing activists like Tommy Robinson, Lauren Southern and Alex Jones, also when he eventually left these far right activists, it must have been a dark time for him, nice to see he’s seen the light.

Capitulation by the terrorist state is the only viable peace plan. Give Ukraine the support needed for the job to be finished.

The plant should be taken in to state ownership and nationalised ensuring all exports are not sent to Russia.

@glennmiller3278

All exports to Russia from Ireland should be banned immediately

Because the Irish political regime is as corrupt as Russia.

I thought that all sorts of companies are sanctioned from doing business in Russia, not just companies that produce things that are used to produce weapons.

Surely the recently awakened EU/UK arms industry needs this Alumina? This should be a quick one to stop. Why has it taken so long? Follow the money.

Shame on Ireland for helping support Russia’s war on Ukraine and genocide. Hosting a Russian owned manufacturing plant that is directly providing revenue and materials to Russia while that country is a recognised enemy of Europe and subject to sanctions
