Ranking Every Pokemon Game From WORST to BEST
Video Overview & Insights
Im ranking every main series pokemon game to figure out which main series Pokémon game is the best.
I truly don't understand how or why black and white are so overrated I understand it was the last game with that art style but they aren't great games
Join me as I rank every main series Pokémon game from worst to best. From the original Red and Blue to the latest adventures, we dive into what makes each game special, or not so special, and determine their place in Pokémon history.
Overview and Criteria Before we jump into the rankings, we'll explain the criteria used to evaluate each game, including gameplay mechanics, story, graphics, innovation, and overall impact on the series.
my top 5 is Platinum, Emerald, Gold, Diamond, and Black 2.
really wanting to pick up HeartGold soon!
Games included in Ranking List :
1. **Pokémon Black and White** - Often hailed for their mature storyline and fresh gameplay, these games set a high standard for future titles.
The only reason Ruby and Sapphire or even Emerald were overrated was because of the 3rd legendary pokemon, Rayquaza. I'm a Gen 2 fan and I wish there was another legendary pokemon that would stand out besides Ho-oh and Lugia. And no, Suicune was not it!
2. **Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver** - These beloved remakes of Gold and Silver offer a perfect blend of nostalgia and new features.
3. **Pokémon Platinum** - An enhanced version of Diamond and Pearl, Platinum is praised for its improved gameplay and additional content.
Idgaf, scarvi is the most fun I've had playing a pokemon game.
4. **Pokémon Emerald** - The definitive version of Ruby and Sapphire, with added features like the Battle Frontier.
5. **Pokémon X and Y** - Introduced 3D graphics and Mega Evolutions, marking a significant evolution for the series.
Personally I put BW2 over Emerald, but Emerald takes slot 2.
6. **Pokémon Sun and Moon** - These games brought innovative changes with Island Trials and Z-Moves, set in the tropical Alola region.
7. **Pokémon Red and Blue** - The originals that started it all, laying the foundation for the series we know and love.
I kinda agree with this list escpecially with the #1... but
Legends Arceus is the worst "mainline" Pokémon Game for me. It's beyond the bottem tier.
And I also am not a fan of the 5th gen ... they introduced bad Pokémon design and I dislike that sprite movement
8. **Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire** - Introduced abilities and double battles, bringing significant gameplay advancements.
9. **Pokémon Sword and Shield** - The first mainline Pokémon games on the Switch, with mixed reception due to graphics and the Dexit controversy.
Johto games being that low is ridiculous when they aged much better than Gen 1
10. **Pokémon Diamond and Pearl** - Laid the groundwork for Generation IV, but criticized for their slow pacing.
11. **Pokémon Gold and Silver** - Expanded on the original games with a new region and day-night cycle, beloved for their depth.
Yellow, Crystal, then Emerald top 3 hands down
12. **Pokémon Black 2 and White 2** - Direct sequels with a compelling storyline, but sometimes overshadowed by their predecessors.
13. **Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire** - Remakes that brought Hoenn to the 3D era, though not as groundbreaking as some hoped.
My first was Pokemon yellow
14. **Pokémon Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!** - A reimagining of Yellow with simplified mechanics to attract new players.
15. **Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon** - Enhanced versions of Sun and Moon with additional content, but seen as unnecessary by some.
16. **Pokémon Yellow** - A special edition of Red and Blue with added features and improved graphics.
17. **Pokémon Crystal** - The enhanced version of Gold and Silver, featuring a female playable character and animated sprites.
where is pokemon stadium from nitendo 64?
18. **Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen** - Remakes of the original Red and Blue with updated graphics and mechanics.
19. **Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl** - These remakes failed to impress due to minimal innovation and technical issues.
tbf all pokemon games would be good if theres an actual fast forward mechanic on their game period
20 - Scarlet and Violet - its a game ( if youre reading this than comment something about bananas)

I'm surprised Midas didn't point out another big flaw with Scarlet and Violet: the character customization is F-tier. There was no character customization for 5 generations, then when it was introduced fans absolutely loved it, to the point it is commonly cited as one of the best things about X and Y. We had never had it so it wasn't until it was introduced that we realized it was an amazing addition to the Pokemon game formula. And then after having it reappear in gen 7 and gen 8, the character customization in gen 9, while technically present, was anemic and half-hearted at best

Pokemon llegó hasta Meotwo , el resto es puro refrito
@PichulasCompanyChrist Is Lord

@PokePoppinORAS was super fun for me and I’m glad to see it’s relatively high on the list
@Chinpou_Pokémon black and white 2 was absolute peak
@arpitsinha6138Soul Silver. Goat.
@homeboi4159Pokemon X and Y are probably my most played easily my top 3 if not first place
@mozyman05Best game is Omega Ruby due to Emerald being already Best
@VedantAraj-Wow Emerald was always my favorite. Surprised someone agrees.
@WinkleshwinklerI just played my first and I started with platinum, one of my fav games ever, I’m now trying black 2 but it feels so off, the Pokemon centers are spaced out so awkwardly I’m constantly running to heal up and I have no clue where to buy anything lol
@4conner.mp3Your list is factually wrong list is a big L
@xxalliaz5246Bruh bdsp last place aint no way man
@darkborne5538Black version 2 holds a special place in my heart. Ill never forget finding volcarona, and being so amazed by what i could do post game.
@firecloud8608No pokemon hentai is the best❤
@jmsanpedro7239Sword and shield aren’t good bro
@jcharos5860Pokemon xd gale of darkness and Pokemon colloseum were the best ever made. they were released in 2003 and 2005. the gameboy games don't come close to those. these were released on the nintendo game cube, how you don't even have these two games mentioned is beyond me.
@rozen1215The newer games are just too easy and hand holdy in my opinion. every single game in gen 4/5 is peak
@eveeiI had no idea we had so many Pokemon games
@jamilschoolfieldBro completely skipped scarlet and violet 😂
@JustArcher19At the end of the day it’s the end of the day that is ending that day. At the end of the day that is. 😅
@mrgfspliffik im late to this but i had over 2k hours in emerald game that started it all for me.
@sleepyartz1596This list is hilariously bad.
X/y should be near the bottom for how hand holding they are.
Legends arceus should be near the bottom for how awful it is.
All the sun/moon games should be near the bottom for how bad they were.
Scarlet and violet should be much father up.
Emerald should not be top, it's just not that good.
Platinum should be #1, with heartgold/soulsilver #2, and all of black/white being #3.
Crystal kicks so much ass I really wish we could have it on the switch
@jm221they kept ruining pokemon after diamond/pearl
@andmelodramaso glad to see many people loving heart gold and soul silver. They're the best in my opinion
@lancegaleraI LOVE sword and shield. I didn't play it for so long bc i heard such bad things. But after playing scarlet/violet and black/white, it felt like the perfect middle ground. The gameplay and pacing just feels perfect. No frustrating grinding but keeping routes in a way that connected well to the wild area. I think black and white has much better story, but for gameplay, i ❤️ swsh
@skylahenry8552Man black2 and white 2 the prime version of Pokemon franchise
@rochiutopia3622Judging by this list, you can see this guy lets nostalgia do the heavy lifting, I don't want to hear it
@NaimWyndNothing beat the brilliant diamond and shining pearl remake. That is the best original pokemon
@bernardosianaYour opinion seems shallow and based on very little when it comes to BDSP
@sportsfan2007How id bdsp worst that the originals its the same game with better graphics
@TrentEvans-x7dI hate bananas.
@Andrew-ls9xgDon't understand at all how Sword and Shield are that high. Just couldn't get through the game because of how incredibly easy they made it. It was no challenge at all. No chance to turn off XP share made it not fun at all.
@elemenewayfor7963:37 why dose charzar look like he has a huge butt
@CyanClicksI didnt play emerald but played ruby is it acc better or not
