Qui-Gon Jinn's Funeral [4k UltraHD] - Star Wars: The Phantom Menace

Video Overview & Insights

Watch Star Wars: The Phantom Menace on Disney+ https://www.disneyplus.com/movies/star-wars-the-phantom-menace-episode-i/2ezYynkgW1AH

This was replayed only in a vision without Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin, Mace Windu and Yoda talking before another vision of Takuya's death in the hands of Count Dooku and Mega Yumi's suicide in Jedi Lionheart

— @OliviaLaferriere

Watch it on Blu-Ray: https://www.amazon.com/STAR-WARS-PHANTOM-MENACE-Blu-ray/dp/B07TMRRQ9Y/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=the+phantom+menace+blu+ray&qid=1608672409&sr=8-1

Two Jedi escape a hostile blockade to find allies and come across a young boy who may bring balance to the Force, but the long dormant Sith resurface to claim their original glory.

I played this music after hearing about Tom Kane's death. 😢

What I've always wondered is who is everyone here anyway? There's Obi Wan, Anakin, Padme, Palpatine, Jar Jar, Boss Nass, R2, Governor Bibble, Panaka, Mace Windu, Yoda, but who's everyone else? What was everyone else's connection to Qui Gon?

I find it interesting how the camera barely focuses on Anakin at all.

Qui-Gon Jinn's Funeral (4k Ultra HD ) - Star Wars The Phantom Menace 💔 😢 ⚰️

The question about which Sith was defeated was an important one since Darth Maul was a powerful and dangerous adversary. If he was the master, then his apprentice would be less experienced and probably less powerful. If Darth Maul is the apprentice, than they are going to have to eventually go up against someone way more dangerous.

This scene is filled with layers

Qui gon being cremated symbolizes how Anakin will become Darth Vader, but also how he is finally burned away by his son.

The music is the same used in the birth scene of not only Luke & Leia, but also the birth of Darth Vader and again when Luke burns Vader’s body.

Obi Wan and Padme are literally standing between Anakin and Palpatine, foreshadowing the first and second layers that keeps Anakin fully away from the Dark Side.

The final moment the camera pans to Palpatine hints at how disconnected the Jedi are, not realizing the very embodiment of evil is right in front of them who is the true winner regardless at the end.

Qui-Gon's funeral was the saddest part of the prequels. As I loved seeing Liam Neeson as him, he was also my favorite character and the one who really could made sure Anakin wouldn't have gone to dark side in Revenge In The Sith. You could see how saddened Anakin was 0:34 of Qui-Gon's death and it was one of the first things that affected him and his life later.

But which was destroyed?

We all know JarJar is the master sith lord.

1:03 I also find interesting that the camera first focuses on anakin then focuses to the emperor. Great foreshadowing without giving anything away yet

People were saying that Obi Wan and Padme stood between Palpatine getting to Anakin, when in fact it was Anakins resentment toward ObiWan and his love for Padme that were the keys to Vader. The only true person that was in the way to Anakin was Qui-Gon.

Really think about this:
The theme for QuiGons funeral was played here, and when Vader took his place at Palpatines side at the end of ROTS

Anakins fate was decided long before he fell. Hence why the main theme in Phantom Menace is called Duel of the Fates

It was at that moment everything started to fall apart. The Galaxy lost a true peaceful Jedi that was not like the others who just wondered and sitting at the Jedi Temple discussing political things.
As they mentioned, the prophecy could've been misread, what if Qui Gon Jin was the prophecy?
After all, he DID bring balanced to those who had doubts and were lost.
Kept Obi Wan Konobi in check to be a ture mindful thinker as a Jedi.
Saved Jar Jar Binks from being killed and caused him to grow up mature and become general to his people and army after being banished by them.
Freed Anakin from slavery.
Made a greedy con loose everything from the Pod Racing and for not setting Anakin's mom free.
Potected Queen Amadala from signing a treaty to the enemy.
Learned the path of immortality.
Peace was not just come on Planet Naboo, but relationships between Gundans and humans restored.
Lots of death encounters but only this music was played for Qui Gon Jin for a reason. Everything was not the same without Qui Gon Jin.

Reminds me of Cheapskate Lady's suicide from Mega Yumi's tiger bullying with honor violence, witchcraft abuse and death threats against her family and friends, her private funeral, cremation & burial ceremony & then later Mega Yumi's punishment: 3 day suspension from work along with community service and the director later resigned from his position after his public confession to the citizens of Dragon Lake City during a public protest because of his regretful participation in the bullying instead of putting a stop to it and then his younger brother took over to make the agency better starting with making the workplace bullying zero tolerance policy more stronger than it was with Sean's help in Hylian Guard 😢❤

Was Plo Koon and Adi Gallia at Qui Gon’s funeral in this scene?! They probably were, I just didn’t see them because it was dark out and they all had hoods on.

And to think Palpatine was a pallbearer at Qui Gon's funeral smh. Makes one wonder how Yoda and everyone else in the council missed the fact that Palpatine was the sith lord in disguise!

The real phantom menace was jar jar, he learns all darkness on Nabu ancient ruins, he has an apprentice Darth sidious, jar jar is beyond sith lords ,jar jar would be the red dragon, the satanic Yoda's counter part , like Yoda clumsy and dump in the beginning, but then the real ierophant the pope of darkness , and this prequels at the begging was not Romeo and Juliet tragedy but Adam and eve, and the Satan the serpent the red dragon is actually jar jar Binks

I’m glad that they went back in the special edition and made Yoda CGI because his Phantom Menace puppet was really ugly

1:04 when the camera moves to Palpatine after Yoda and Windu wondered if it was the Sith Master or apprentice who died I immediately became suspicious of Palpatine and wondered if he was the Sith Master (but I didn't work it until the big reveal in Revenge of the Sith). Did anyone else get the same suspiciouses of Palpatine when we all first saw this movie?

Did anyone else notice the music here is the same music that played as Darth Vader rose from his completed assembly in revenge of the sith?
Interesting how the music is used for the death of Quigon’s death but Darth Vader’s birth.

When I see Qui Gons corps burning along with the background music it basically symbolizes the hope of the Jedi being extinguished, along with Anikin’s future to be on the dark side. If Qui Gon hadn’t died he would be the one capable of seeing that Palpatine was the Sith Lord Master and his corruption. It’s like the beginning of the end until a new hope is found years later.

This hits different seeing palpatine at the funeral now, the one time they wanted to have a funeral off world. Couldn’t be traditional this time?😂

0:58. Hidden symbolism. The only 2 people literally and figuratively standing in the way of Palpatine getting to Anakin. Padme and Obi-Wan….

@roc5291

How come Sabe is not there as Queen, Padme, Amidala's other handmaidens are. Considerately great of those people, that those people of Naboo, Jedi Council, and the main characters being there, as they would seem to care and support Qui-Gon Jinn.
