Please note that this video has been made by the University of Nottingham for teaching purposes. The psychiatrist is a real psychiatrist but the patient is played by an actor. No real names or personal details have been used.
Heartbreaking.
In this film, an on-call psychiatrist is assessing a young man who has been referred urgently by his GP. The psychiatrist takes a history in which she elicits persecutory delusions, third person auditory hallucinations, running commentary, thought insertion, and somatic hallucinations. She then makes a risk assessment, takes a drug history and assesses risk.
The patient is clearly suffering from a psychotic disorder and the most likely diagnosis is schizophrenia. Differential diagnoses would include a drug-induced psychosis.
MI5 refers to military intelligence.

She seems like a very good psychiatrist. I have to wonder if after gaining more trust with him, offering a bit more scientific investigation around his theory of a chip might help him come to better terms with what might be going on. Ie. Offer to do an MRI of his brain to scan for the microchip or use an RF meter to detect radio frequency emissions (necessary to communicate with MI6) from his Brain. It would either get him much more onboard with the plan to address and correct the problem or in the 1 in 10,000,000 chance heâs correct refer him to a brain surgeon :) either way problem solved.

people tend 2 answer 'im fine' to any general health questions even if theyre on 5 heart health pills or metformin or anything
i was just thinking that her 'general health' question was too vague right before she asked abt prescription meds

@JohnEricksonIII-x2bimagine a high IQ person with that problem. just imagine how that conversation would look like with an highly inteligent one. Its really scary that around 5% of people have this....and there is no cure.

@fritz6101okay, what if the govement is actually planting chips on humans to test them, like elons musk new brain chip neuralink where they started officially testing in 2023 on animals and trying also on humans, but the idea and the project has existed long before. What are the odds that many of these people disagnosed by psychosis or similar disorders are suffering from a brain chip or side effects of this brain chip. Do you really doubt that elon musk would not test his product on humans also? sure they did.

@SafetythroughIslamRespectfully, this is a terrible interview. It literally goes against anything Iâve ever been taught throughout all my years with psychiatry, forensic interviewing, and motivational interviewing. She asks a lot of closed ended questions and leading questions. These are HUGE mistakes in a psych assessment instant red flags that lead to a poor assessment . Please she leads with a negative question like âyouâre not on any regular medsâŠâ thatâs not even a question. She loads many of her questions with âeither/orâ options. These are BASIC problems that she exacerbates with her terrible style.

@MrsilenciobackgammonI don't like the acting. I have a mother with schizophrenia and have seen other people when visiting her in hospital and his acting seems to me as if he never saw a person with schizophrenia and they only told him how to act.
His hand gestures look too normal (people with schizophrenia often lack body gestures or their gestures don't align with what they are saying. He also looks too groomed and his clothing does not look weird. It's not uncommon for people with schizophrenia to wear their sweater the wrong way, wear a pink T-shirt with a camouflage pants and red shoes or just wear clothes that are inadequate for the weather.
His reaction time is normal which is not typical for a person with schizophrenia. His speech also seems way too coherent for a person with schizophrenia who is having psychosis. (Google "aphasia" - or if you know people with dementia - it is basically their way of talking incoherent gibberish)
And his body posture is not tense enough for someone who would be paranoid, afriad and might have a high muscle tone due to having increased sympathetic activity/ being in flight and fight mode all the time.
His skin also does not seem off. With schizophrenia, the skin often can seem dull and pale. (not always though)
Very realistic example. Helps to understand how psychosis presents in real life.
@MEDMAX-CHANNELI'm telling you, one day, not so long from now, it will be agreed upon science, agreed upon*, that not only does cannabis make it incredibly likely to manifest schizophrenia in people who have a predisposition, but that it even can *cause it (without predisposition).
@green8026credit to the psychiatrist here she has a very calming effect. haven been treated for psychosis myself i relate to this interview and i'm grateful for the care i was given by the mental health team, special cred it to my CPN too who got me back out into the community doing ten pin bowling, badminton etc that also really helped me reintegrate to society.

@JUtucsonIve had struggles with my mental health. Physocis being a reccurent one. Never once have i had someone (interviewer) be so empathetic and asking all the questions that are fully relivant to what hes saying/feeling and trying to understand all aspects that could have induced it. Many people are very condisending and argue everythung ur saying. Or focas on the surface issues rather than what ur saying. Very good at her work.

Weed had me in this state. Donât underestimate it. If you recognise yourself in this video, thereâs time still for a full recovery, get help! Itâs scary, but I still recognised it wasnât real, but some people donât.

@TakaashiagiThere's a great YouTube video consisting of original footage from a man suffering from psychosis in the USA. He says he can see a man in house that other people can't see, and he can hear this man talking to him. Well, at some point, the video captures him looking at a doorway, in which he can see the "man" standing. And then the curtains in the doorway start to move on their own, and then they lift up in the air and fall down, as if moved by invisible hands. So, it turns out that the psychiatrist was WRONG, because the man actually had a GHOST. The idea of taking videos was the psychiatrist's. But I think he or she must have got a shock when they saw the footage.

@FirstNameLastName-hahahaUnfortunately not all Dr's are good at dealing with or even identifying psychosis....my mother has been suffering from psychosis and delusions regarding my daughter and myself....yet the dr....just fobbed it off when I raised concerns on multiple occasions.....the dr and police believed her....even when she claimed we had been abducted by sheep rustlers ....not fun or funny
