The Foreigner was so fucking good!!!!
If you’ve ever scrolled through Prime Video wondering why the recommendations are so terrible, you’re not alone. The platform is packed with great movies… but the algorithm often buries them beneath a mountain of popular movies and low-effort suggestions.
So in this video I’m highlighting 10 great movies on Prime Video that the platform continuously refuses to recommend. These are the kinds of underrated films that slip through the cracks or simply hidden by Prime Video’s messy interface.
Rule of thumb....
Any movie that is advertised as an "original" is skip worthy.
If you’re looking for the best movies on Prime Video that you haven't already seen, this list should give you plenty to add to your watchlist. These are the types of movie discoveries that make scrolling through streaming services worth it.

Is the thumbnail just AI/bait then?
0:49 The East
2:08 The Shallows
I always liked the Shallows as a fun shark movie which don't always work so well. Another good recent one was Beast of War.
3:28 The Foreigner
4:50 The Outpost
I’ve been a fan of The Foreigner for some time. Good flick! 👍
6:08 Super Dark Times
7:54 Gamer
Lost me at Blake Lively
10:06 Blowout
11:22 Duck You Sucker/A Fistful of Dynamite
Gamer is one of the worst video game movies I have ever seen. In the movie a human being drinks gasoline so he can pee it out into a vehicle's gas tank to make an escape. 🤔
12:38 The Tank (Der Tiger)
14:07 The World’s Fastest Indian
Fastest Indian?! Wtf? Jokes on me I guess cuz I just wasted 2 hrs waiting for it to get good... It has a boring beginning a boring middle and a boring end
16:12 List Recap
I just watched The shallows based on your recommendation. If one can forgive a few stupid plot holes such as beautiful woman being driven to remote unknown location by men to surf and no one knows where she’s at🙄, the bulk of the movie is pretty good but the ending violates the suspension of disbelief as this heroine ( the message), lights the sea on fire with a flare gun and…. well I won’t spoil the rest but it’s definitely a 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄ending.

Darren you mentioned watchlist, how about creating Trakt watchlist for each video so we can easily find and watch your choices. I tend to watch all of your recommendations as they are so good. I have many streaming services and they all integrate with Trakt.
I'll keep on watching as long as you keep making these videos 😊😊
The tank, was very enjoyable
@craigmacdonald5352Got any like military/scifi/fantasy movies to suggest that are off the beaten path?
@MoldyBones27You forgot to mention "Another Earth" with and written by Brit Marling. That one...👍👍
@JoshMorrowWords no one has ever said before this video, “Anthony Hopkins is just so incredible in it…”. I will watch that one this weekend. This is one of Hopkins’ only movies I have not seen yet. Thanks for the great recommendations!!
@dantoti657great jackie chan recommendation. HOWEVER, he just did a recent one in 2025 called The Shadows Edge. great film with a compelling story and plenty of action.
@OvaOshaI’m so glad people remember the worlds fastest Indian. It’s a great movie and an insane true story lol
@SaxgodThe Shallows was fucking dogshit
@thesickening0169Gamer was awesome!
@tr0ubl3mak3r12:57 - So long as it's either 'Das Boot' or 'The Boat' and not 'Das Boat' or 'The Boot'.
@WillWilsonthesafetyguyWatched mortal last night with natt wolf pretty good
@MalevolentK🎧🤪📺 Thank you so much for sharing a list of good movies 🎥 🙏
I wishing you a beautiful day to you and all your viewers.
Much Love Thierry ❤️˘◡˘❤️
The Outpost was very good.
@rhoused1743I would actually watch the shark movie only if Blake got ripped apart by the shark. The shark is the “good guy” when matched up against that scum.
@dbs3fNot excactly a hot take, but there would be no "Gamer" without "The Running Man" (the Schwarzenegger original).
@AnneAslaugGamer is one of my favorite movies of all time. Glad it got recommended and not trashed for once.
@ArikaStackWe need more channels like this!
@cordels.1179Loved The Foreigner
@darter216The foreigner is an excellent not Statham Statham movie. His solemn performance was awesome
@OvAeonsI really appreciate you. I watch these now with the app open.
@Marx1684Thanks...
@2seekerxBlowout sounds much like "The Conversation"
@poodlemeister22314The Worlds Fastest Indian — I went right to your first pick and just finished. What a lovely, wonderful movie! Had the occasional tear and a lot of laughs. 😂
We can all hope to be as kind & humble as Burt Monroe 🏍️😊
Thank you for this pick.
What was the “…if you don’t watch Blake Lively movies anymore,…” quip about?
@litup6465Super Dark Times goes really hard
@googenhiemer613Was the OA that weird 'dance-to-another-dimension' movie?
@CubanWriterGamer is to video games what Mazes and Monsters is to D&D.
@OlinNiordLoved The Tank, thx for the recommendation
@Madison-qd9qtThe Outpost is an amazing movie with an outstanding cast. I grew up on westerns, it's my favorite genre, but I haven't seen A Fistful of Dynamite in 20-30 years. I've been meaning to watch Der Tiger and now I definitely want to watch The World's Fastest Indian and Super Dark Times. Great list.
@Stonewielder“The Foreigner” is a masterpiece, and “Gamer” is a really fun film with a message.
@chrisweidner4768Did the shark Blake Lively? If so I’ll watch…her and her husband are awful people.
@TheExodusVHubby and me just watched The Foreigner. It was a real good movie! You do such a great job in picking out these movies for us. We greatly appreciate all your hard work and time.
@MaryKelly-g2xI love The Shallows and have watched it at least 5 times. Great movie.
@jamesagnew6512I just watched The Foreigner off this recommendation, and it is a great movie. Thanks!
@MatthewClinaYou had me at the hot rave chick in the thumbnail.
Let's see where this goes.
Edit: The Outpost was a great flick.
Need a Canadian version of your channel 😏
@TheDeBursBlow out sounds like a similar concept to "The Conversation" with Gene Hackman
@Darts3847Thank you for all that you do, it's very much appreciated.
"Gamer" is a film I tell everyone about, I think that the reason that it didn't do better at the time of release was because it's ahead of its time. "The World's Fastest Indian" is a great heartwarming film, "Blow Out" which was inspired by "Blow Out" another great film is excellent and again one which seems to be overlooked these days. "The Shallows" is very underrated, I liked its premise from the start and again I recommend it to anyone who will listen.
We have Tubi in the U.K. but I get the feeling that it isn't as good as it is in the U.S.A.
I'm leaving recomendations to try to pay you back for all the great movies you have recomended. I know you probally have everybody giving their's also. But what the hell I'm 65 amd retired what the hell do I have better to do. Workout and watch movies. LOL I hoped you liked the french movie I recomended " Inside 2017" now I have a found footage hoor movie. " Afflicted 2015" it's done very well. Keep doing what you are doing Darren, you do a dam good job everytime!
@fr33denz27You should visit northern Nigeria, you still won't believe the threat that is Iran. But Black Americans consider themselves the authority on blackness
