Prime Crime: Murdered Mom’s Mystery Killer Caught 23 Years Later
Video Overview & Insights
A Maryland mother’s co-workers became concerned when she didn’t show up for work on May 2, 2001. Police searched Leslie Preer’s home, which had traces of blood everywhere, and found her dead in the shower of her upstairs bathroom. Detectives investigated her family, friends and anyone else who was in regular contact with Leslie and found no clear suspect. Two decades later, investigators reopened the case and used advances in genetic genealogy to identify a suspect in a familial DNA database. Find out what happened to Leslie Preer on this episode of “Prime Crime with Jesse Weber.”

Anyone’s feedback as to why you’d think he did it? I see comments such as:
Retaliation of some sort? Did he try to make a move on the mom and wanted to silence her?

Why is he being interviewed without an attorney? The second the detective's line of questioning seemed to focus on him as the perpetrator, you think he would have asked for an attorney. Attorney would have really helped during questioning.

He’s not sorry or else he would’ve turned himself in after the crime, it’s horrifying what he did and to someone who was nothing but kind to him. I think he did it just to do it though the hot shower may suggest something else but who knows cause he could’ve just did it cause he is pure evil. He should’ve gotten life no parole.

She said that someone who was not involved would say I didn't do it. Well, her husband said he didn't but you didn't believe him.

@trishawnaryWhat a snowflake....
@mikaelsjoberg1894So disappointed your using AI.
@ztigrisThis is so sad her husband passed away seeking justice
@USTruecrimeForensicsStrange and in some way unusual story but motiveras still missing 20y for a coldblooded terrible murder, why not lifetime ???
@ingridedeus5851No ai please
@jakemullen7477What was the reason though. For this man to do what he did. Did he ever explain?
@ItsyBetsy365the AI added nothing a bit of stock footage couldn't add. way to bring down the quality of this video man
@maia_beansWhen they were dating they looked like brother and sister.
@richarddailey4786Hmm? Well,this was a strange case. 3 years after they peacefully broke up,he then killed her mom? He must have been burning up inside with rage to commit this crime. Poor Sandy. He sounds like a real nice guy who had nothing to do with this nor ever would. There's no justice there for him or his family. How sad!
@1954crcWhat was the motive?
@billpii6314Watchd June 20 2026
@winstonsmith-ministryoftru1609I wonder if Gligor broke into the house looking for the daughter, thinking she lived there. Got caught by the mom, and went thru with his intentions, just chose a different victim.
@Lala_Btruthfinder is one of the companies buying up all of our information that governments and corporations are constantly harvesting and requiring more of just to live an average life.
@ven7165When they got the DNA, they should have apologized to Sandy and told the public that he was not a suspect. This was lazy police work, and Sandy suffered for the rest of his life.
@jamescraft672When Satanists run your country, there is no justice
@USANuked2029the cuffs were cutting off his circulation.................oh dear
@justsayin644Thank goodness they held on to the evidence all those years!
@sandrawadsworth5173Imagine how many more murderers are dreading that knock on the door. DNA and genealogy is amazing! Her poor husband, cannot imagine how frustrated and upset he must’ve felt being the prime suspect for all those years.
@cheekyllamaI hope this episode scares many murderers that are hiding in the shadows yet to be caught and lets them know that there day of reckoning could be slowly but surely creeping up behind them
@jennyatherton3820Im so confused because evryrhing but the DNA points to the husband.
@rosine749All victims: the mom, the killer, the daughter, the father, etc. We're not given the answer why he did it, if he had ever done it. DNA evidence is overwhelmingly Bayesian, very difficult to defend against, but we must bear in mind that DNA doesn't tell the truth. We must figure out why the mom was killed, otherwise the conclusion is not satisfying and complete.
@shadowriter33366So, what happened?
@funnyfromadamI love it when they say nothing bad happens in this neighbourhood.. yes until it does! I’m pretty sure lots goes on behind closed doors
@samm311422 YEARS IS ALMOST AS BAD AS THE MURDER IT'S SELF.... THAT IS NOTHING.....
HE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN 99 YEARS IN THE ELECTRIC CHAIR..

@time2relax68I'm not this guys advocate but he's not too bright, no lawyer?
@johnsone9396So many years, so many tears.
@diannegunn1243I wonder what the motive was. Glad he was finally caught. But should have gotten the maximum sentence.
@M5ct-b1oAi just killed the emotional vibe. Please don’t use it. It feels smh disrespectful as well.
