Man, Amanda always has trash takes when it comes to the reddit stories where the woman is clearly in the wrong. flip the genders and she would be straight dogging on this mom. Like unless you're completely tone deaf, the father is not in the wrong in any which way.

26:10 my Dad and I had a secret password for anyone trying to pick me up. I got to decide it, and my Dad would only give it to others to pick me up in an emergency, It is wild how things used to be.

It feels like this series would be one place where they would feel safe to disagree with each other and discuss it (especially Shayne since he is the host because he went to school). But it feels like they hold back for the content sometimes.

A child not getting picked up after an hour was the point law enforcement was to get involved when I was working after care.
If I had the context of it due to playing a video game and missing emergency contact calls maybe even CPS.

I donât know about a period party but I have heard of period gifts lol.. mine was a cat xD jk on the same day they were surprising me with a cat from the shelter as a gift cuz my G-pig passed of old age and I cried about it all the time.. on that very day right before we left.. I got my first ever period lol

As a labor and delivery nurse it is a wonderful job. Iâm on my feet straight for 12 hours and itâs non stop critical moments and I carry a ton of trauma, but so worth it đ

As an introvert that period story made me irate. Extroverts never understand. Someone once had the staff at a restaurant sing happy birthday to me. I ended up in the bathroom crying. To them it was insane but everyone staring at me was just more than I could take. It was well meaning but I felt they should've known better. I've always been this way. A period party would have sent me into hiding for months.

When my mom was a kid, her family forgot her at church. They just LEFT without her. She waited around for a bit, then had to walk home. Thankfully, they lived pretty close by, but it still would have been about a 30min walk. When she got home, her parents and siblings were all eating lunch together and hadnât even realized she wasnât there. That was about 50 years ago, and she still remembers it clear as day. Trust me, kids remember things like that.

25:28 My mom gave us a codeword. If someone came to get us, they had to have the codeword.
My aunt came to get me one time and she didnt have the codeword. She had to drive back to my Mom and get the codeword and then come back for me. No codeword, no dice.

Saw many comments saying that parents forgetting you for an hour "will be remembered forever" and realized how independent I've been taught to be. Wasn't that big of a deal to me. Those little things don't make you feel not cared for if your parents care for you otherwise.

To the Bob Ross drill Sargent point: my grandpa was also a drill Sargent in the army. He was in the army over 20 years. The same exact thing happened with him. After he retired he never yelled again. My grandma was argumentative, but he didnât give in. He had a loud booming voice, but it was always a joyful, southern good ol boy voice. The kindest, warmest man you could ever know.

My husband has an iPad but not an iPhone, so I can understand that part. But, obviously, that would in no way excuse what happened. That is so insane and devastating. Nor was it one time - he said she's missed crucial appointments. We don't know what those were, but to the husband that was not the first time she had flaked on something important

My dad died when I was 12, and my mom thought it was a brilliant idea to tell me he died of "sudden death syndrome" in his sleep like infants get (He died of prescription drug interactions and alcohol). I was scared to fall sleep for years and hoped I'd wake up in the morning. Tell your kids the truth or at least think of a better lie.

Regarding the Roblocks story, I think Amanda is projecting a lot. OP's 9-year-old was left at school for an hour. OP has a right to be pissed about it. The mom likely has an addiction, and it seems that Amanda is making excuses for her behavior. It almost comes off as if Amanda is feeling personally attacked by OP. If it wasn't for the kid, I'd say OP's reaction to his wife's slacking is going overboard; however, a child is involved and she ignored calls and texts to keep playing her game. If the roles were reversed, I don't think Amanda would be defending the husband like she's defending the wife.

Currently playing Old School RuneScape while watching this, and my dad used to play RuneScape with me and my brother when we were growing up too. He bought our memberships and was maybe more addicted to playing than either one of us at the time. He definitely left me a band practice once or twice. I'm always scared I'm gonna forget something important while playing, but I set a million alarms on my phone to keep that from happening.

My mom forgot to pick me up once. Usually a neighbor picked us up in the afternoon, but they were out that day so I was on my own. I didn't have a phone yet so eventually I had to walk home in the first snow of the year. She was really apologetic, and it definitely wasn't a habit, but it makes you feel like absolute shit. And what's worse I think is that my mom knew she messed up and clearly didn't know how to make it better and so didn't try enough. Not doing it again would be fine for like, an adult or a work environment, but I was 12

Cameron Boyce. Hands down. I was still a kid when he died and it hit hard. Especially with him being so young. I had experiences with death before his, but never with someone who was still a young adult.

It annoys me so much when you guys just bash on a man for no reason. That dad had the right response, Reddit Mom was in the wrong 1000%. No mom should forget their child somewhere and I would expect Amanda to get that, seeing as sheâs a mom herself

1:03:25 - I had a conversation with my father about something that happened over 20 years ago. It was a situation that my mother had communicated his feelings to me and my feelings to him and we never talked directly about it. Turns out, my mother had just made up things and misrepresented both of us to each other. The two were still together when it happened, but had been divorced a while when we had the conversation. We couldn't figure out why she lied to both of us.

If the roles were reversed in the second story, Amanda wouldnât have any remorse for the father. Mothers can be shitty parents too.

The gentleness of a friend like Amanda is worth gold. Everybody wants to have a home in their friends but it seems like to some it's only ok if they're warm and forgiving to only them and never other people. That's not how it works.

I can't understand parents who think it's okay to tell people about their daughter's periods, it their private information, it's their perogative. Like I remember when I first got my period and I went to a barbeque and I had like 10 different women talking to me about my period, I was so uncomfortable

For the Bob Ross one, the mom could consider taking her kids to visit his grave in Woodlawn memorial park in Gotha (thanks google)âșïž that way they could leave flowers and get a chance to «talk» to him âin personâ:)))

I think the edit of the Bob Ross one is BS. People love to use their kids for crap like this.
And no, kids will not feel betrayed. The whole death thing is no different than telling your kids Santa Claus is real, and then one day they find out he isnât. I highly doubt learning that traumatizes kids (once they are old enough to learn of it naturally)

So, for the people in the comments that seem to not understand some stuff about how people work
No, smosh isn't sexist and no, just because they looked for "excuse" for the wrong party, it doesn't make them bad people. It's a reddit story... a ONE SIDED STORY written by the person and can be changed to their will. It's very smart and realistic to apply ANY possibilities to any story unless updated by the opposite party.
If you dont like it, then it shows what kinda person you are, being the " i believe the first thing i hear " kind. Open-mindedness goes a long way.
There are ALWAYS two sides or more to one story
Not to mention the stories possible being fake.
Also crazy to focus on the moments they are open-minded and take it negatively and not talking about the COUNTLESS times they give positive reactions, appreciation and so on.
Once again, showing how your outlook is on people and the world
So to be on theme
if you're gonna comment, dont be dumb and use some thinking to make sure you aren't spreading misinformation of people just because your outlook is negative or closed-minded.
Oyyyy myyyyy
@Vseznayka-u8dyeah I doubt the 3 of them have ever been forgotten afterschool, as someone who's dad would often forget to pick up I know how affecting it is to be forgotten, it's genuinely such an awful feeling
@hessi_943Anyone know where Shaneâs T-shirt is from? I WANT IT! đ đ
@NathTMcCI'm only on the 18th minute and I need to go back and tally how many times Trevor says "like". In the single 18th minute was about 6 lol
@AliBe-l4bNo, I'm sorry, Amanda is being just too hard on that dad and not hard enough on the mom this time. I'd love her to consider what she'd do if her husband left their son for an hour while playing a game.
