A few years ago my wife and I stayed in a hotel only a few block from the loop. It was late spring or early summer, I couldn't sleep, it was too quiet in the hotel room, so I opened the sliding-door patio window a couple of inches and heard exactly what you hear in this video, and it put me right to sleep. Thanks for this video!

I've been living in Tennessee for four years now and no city comes close to what I felt back at home. You could see so much in such little time in northern IL just by driving for twenty minutes. Truly amazing quality! Thank you for posting this. On a different note, this video CLEARLY shows what has happened to the downtown area since the departure of Rhambo and Mayor Daley. It's like a ghost town down there now compared to when those two were in. When Rahm was in, downtown was crazy busy and you'd hear horns honking and sirens going off non-stop and traffic was basically gridlocked everywhere and the sidewalks were packed with people it was amazing being there (I loved it). Not anymore! People are afraid of being shot right on Michigan Ave now and carjacked and have all left. Businesses have left, stores closed like many right along Michigan Ave after the riots and smash and grabs, restaurants went under such as the ever famous Signature Room and Lounge. One can only hope this horrid mayor gets booted out next election. He makes Beetlejuice look good and she was God awful. Bring back Mayor Daley! He was a legend.

My childhood home, thank you. I always loved the "corn cob" twin buildings, as we used to call them. I lived on the North side by Winnemac and Paulina, the John Hancock building was visible by our back porch.💕

So fewer people now compared too when I lived there in the early 90s.

Living close to home (Chicago), I do manage to get back every couple of weeks, but when I'm here in Rkfd this gets me through the times when missing downtown. The noises with the view are sublime.....just needing to hear a bit more of people talking- that's okay tho
