Set in London’s beautiful Royal Park, American Express presents BST Hyde Park kicked off in 2013 with The Rolling Stones reliving their legendary 1969 gig, plus Bon Jovi, Lionel Richie and many more packing out the park for memorable summer nights.
The event has since featured many legendary headliners including Celine Dion, Stevie Wonder, Barbra Streisand, Adele, The Rolling Stones, Taylor Swift, Robbie Williams, Black Sabbath, Take That, Kylie Minogue, The Who, Blur, Kendrick Lamar, The Strokes, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Sabrina Carpenter, Zach Bryan and so many more.

Every year, each headliner is joined by a full supporting line-up across multiple stages, from major superstars to handpicked developing acts performing for fans from across the UK and the world.
And the midweek programme, Open House, allows free access to the site with outdoor cinema, street food markets, children’s theatre, fitness classes, summer sports screenings, evening events, live music and much more.
Obviously more popular with the kids than the Robert Smith collab at Glastonbury. It's amusing to me as an old person because I like The Cure a lot more than I like Ed Sheeran but also totally appreciate how a young crowd will like Ed Sheeran in his 30s a lot more than the almost 70 year old Robert Smith.
Meanwhile I am sure these collabs are simply translating regular social media collab dynamics to the stage rather smaller internet stars doing it at home: Each has a lot of fans but they are both almost entirely separate (or "siloed" as media people like saying too much). As soon as you do a collab with somebody who has lots of fans you don't have then you greatly expand your audience. So, the explanation is media economics: Each stat inherits a sizeable new audience from the other stars fanbase in one performance of not surprisingly the song likely to be the most popular.

Sad that this generation idolizes the nuanced vs reality. Ed Sheeran would even be disappointed reading this comment section. Or women smiling while the song plays. Living a false reality that this is "happy" except everything but that and a story of current homelessness that's been going on and addictions. I don't see the same comment section in Logic's Suicide song, Brad Presley's alcoholic song, etc.
